I had the previous griddle model that this replaced with the knobs gr-4, and this is such a great improvement. Aesthetically it looks much better, and I like knowing what temperature it is on vs low, medium, high. It also has a timer function on it, which is handy so I don’t have to use Alexa anymore. There is a slight tilt to this so that it drains better than the old version. Before having a griddler, I always overcooked all of the meat I made in the oven, never again! Do make sure you have a meat thermometer so you know when it’s done cooking internally. Also, easiest clean up ever! Just take the plates off and put them in the dishwasher, or you can easily hand wash it. I wouldn’t recommend letting them sit in water for long, the nonstick coating isn’t very thick and I feel it could harm your plates over time potentially. I highly recommend this, and doubt you will regret your decision to buy this.

I’ve only used it a few times so far, but I love it! I can fine-tune the temp setting, it’s much, MUCH easier to clean than my old contact grill, and the reversible plates mean I don’t have to find extra storage. It takes up a fair amount of space, but that’s to be expected as it’s got a large cooking surface. The drip receptacle is in the back, and slides into place, so I won’t be tipping it over like I did with my old grill. Very easy to use – I’m very pleased with this purchase.Quick update: I’ve now used it a bunch of times, and done some messy marinaded chicken and fish on it. 98% of the ick from cooking comes off with the hot spray from my faucet. It is worth every penny to be able to clean this so easily, and I use it more often because it cleans so easily. This is a GREAT product!

I am super excited about my new toaster to make my children’s breakfast in the morning and at night, its quality is spectacular, the Teflon is wonderful of very good quality, just treat it well so that it has a lasting quality of work. .. I am very happy I recommend it, I bought 2 before this one and I returned one by default in Teflon and the other because it did not heat enough the sandwich was not toasted…. I am very excited with my new purchase from CUISINART, the quality of the toaster is excellent, the Teflon and heat Perfect…. I give it 5 stars thanks you so much

Two tries and this product didn’t work for me. I bought one and the top griddle didn’t turn on at all. The display showed E1 and there was no heat on the plate. I couldn’t find any error E1 mentioned in the manual so I called Cuisinart. They didn’t know what that was and told me to return to amazon. The replacement unit got heat on the top and bottom plates but the unit didn’t register when the bottom plate got to the desired temperature and stayed in preheat even though the the grill plate was clearly hot. Too hot to use. I even tried putting it at the lowest temperature and it still didn’t register that it was at the desired temperature. So basically unusable and I had to return it at well.

We love being able to make our own paninis and this does a great job. The controls can be a bit confusing to get it going. There are too many levels that you have to wait and hit the check button. They also have the temperature display backwards. The screen has the lower temp on the top and upper on the bottom. We thought since we build the sandwiches on the lower we would set the upper hotter but I screwed that up because of the flipped display. Small details missed probably in the QA process.Other than the display and startup it works great. It is very easy to clean with the removable trays. Doubt we will ever open it up as a grill. Again things trying to do too much.

We are using our griddler literally every single day! It is perfect for plain toast, sandwiches, grilled cheese or quesadillas.Hint – ALWAYS use parchment paper for everything you grill. You will still have beautiful grill marks in your food but with zero cleanup! Jist fold a piece of paper like a book, slide your cheesy sandwich inside and toss it on the grill. Once ready you just slide it out – no cheese and no crumbs stuck to the plates, no scraping no nothing! I swear by it! Our plates look brand new after months of use.

This is an awesome panini press!! Me and my husband totally love it!! It’s simple to use, has a temperature setting and a timer! I’ve washed the grates twice too rack dishwasher, and also just wiped clean after using. So far I’ve done chicken breasts, sandwiches, hot dogs, shrimp and it just works perfectly! There’s no flipping because the top and bottom have burners and no smoking up the house like happens when I use my cast iron grill on the stovetop. I haven’t used the griddle setting or sides yet, but the “grill” works perfectly!! My husband doesn’t do much in the kitchen, but he is even using this…he loves it! I can’t say enough good things about it, just wish I’d bought one a long time ago!! Threw my old George Forman grill out that I haven’t used in forever. This is very compact and fits nicely on my countertop. Also looks nice too! Perfect size to make meals for 2 people…me & my husband!

The appliance was used and shipped to me dirty! I removed this appliance from the packaging and had my hand full of stale grease and crumbs from the last user! I cannot tell you how disgusted I am at paying full price for an appliance and having to clean the appliance just to test the appliance. The Styrofoam inside the bag, with the appliance, was greasy and if I had wanted to return the item, I would not be able to due to the grease from the last user.I am beyond livid at this double-cross. So, whether Amazon improves or Cuisinart improves, something has to improve and soon!

I’ve only had the Cuisinart GR-5B Series Griddler Five for a couple of months and I’ve only used it for cooking chicken breasts and hamburger’ but it works great, using both the top and bottom cooking surfaces like a Panini press. I pour a little cooking olive oil on both sides of the burgers and just spread it with my finger then sprinkle seasoning on both sides. I preheat the griddler to 425 degrees. I set the timer to 6 minutes for 4oz burgers and they are cooked through. I marinade the chicken breasts and poke the heck out of them. Then I cook the pieces that are about the same thickness using the top and bottom cooking surfaces, again about 6 minutes. I am very satisfied with this unit and highly recommend it.

My old indoor grill, a
Frigidaire Professional
, died after about 5 years and so I bought this Cuisinart as a replacement. The digital display on this is nice in that it shows you the preheat status, grill temperature, and cooking countdown timer. There are only two control buttons on this thing. One is the on-off button. The other is the circular knob, which allows you to adjust temperature, cooking time, and cooking mode (grill or griddle). When you turn the grill on, the machine steps you through the settings for cooking. You twist the circular knob left or right to change the setting, and then push the circular knob to confirm the setting. The machine takes about 5 minutes to preheat to 450 degrees farenheight. My old grill took 9 minutes, so this is a welcome speedup. The top and bottom grill plates make contact with your food, and because of their weight will put a “squeeze” on the food. This is perfect for cooking meats, but the plates will flatten any soft foods such as bread. My old Frigidaire grill allowed me to lock the plates so that the top plate would not crush my ham and cheese sandwiches.I do wish that the countdown timer would turn off the grill when it hits zero. Instead, the grill continues to cook your food and the timer will start to count up. In other words it tells you how much time has passed since the countdown ended.Overall it’s a really nice grill and I would definitely recommend it. Hopefully it lasts as long as my old one did.

Really happy with this. We use it everyday and have had it for over a month. We just use it for making quesadillas and hot sandwiches. When making a quesadilla, or sandwich, we usually prep it on a plate and then slide it onto the press. That way one side doesn’t get overdone while you’re putting it together or leave the lid open for too long. Works great to spread butter and sprinkle some Parmesan on the bread to give it tasty crunchy exterior. We usually use the griddle option and use it as a panini press. Grill option also works well too.Clean up is a breeze even when melted cheese goes all over the place. We don’t plan to use it for pancakes and eggs or bacon like some reviewers have tried. So it works great for our purposes.

I am sad that I cannot give this a full 5 stars, but since Cuisinart refuses to answer my concerns about this product, I must make sure the people are aware of the issues.I have bought two of these in less than 6 years. I take really good care of my items; I still have the original box and foam inserts just in case I needed to move it or ship it back for warranty purposes (explanation in a minute). The side buttons that you push to pop out the grill plates are plastic and one will break after a couple years of frequent use. That means, you have no button to push and the metal underneath is inside the machine-not easy to access. I bought the second panini grill for the same issues as the first one in March 2015, not having kept original receipt to know if it was under warranty, so I was thrilled to see that this one was still within the three year warranty.I called the Warranty number and was told that I’d have to ship it back and the cost was on me. You’re also expected per their warranty paperwork to pay an additional $10 to get a repaired/refurbished/potentially new one back. I did ask to have that second fee waived, as it seemed unfair. So, I go to the U.S. Post Office with the machine in its original pristine box.It was $38.12 to ship via ground and $42 for priority. I was shocked. The box looks so brand new that the agent assumed it was and she joked to the other postal worker did she want to buy it from me? I explained that it needed repair and her jaw dropped. She too thought it was absurd that they would not send me a postal order as the weight and the fact it has to go cross-country is what makes the shipping so much. I decided that for more than half the price of the item, it didn’t make sense to ship. I checked with UPS and they too were over $24. I mean, I can see paying $15, but this is too much money for a $59.99 item (that I paid $91 with tax in 2015 when it was still a higher price as their newer model). So I called Cuisinart back and explained my case. I was told that if I wanted to use the Warranty, I had to ship it because that is what I agreed to-did I have a choice? They wouldn’t even offer me $34 towards a brand new one.I really loved this product and am disappointed that Cuisinart makes their warranty policy difficult to honor. I even contacted them on Facebook privately to see if they’d look into my case and work with me, but they didn’t even bother to respond.I wonder if the extended warranty offered here on Amazon by the third party would not make me jump through hoops if I wanted to buy another one. Just not sure I am wasting my money or not. I don’t like the ethics of a warranty that costs you a fortune in order of fit to be honored. As for the machine itself:The pros:-makes a great panini;-great for indoor grilling meat/fish/vegetables ;-awesome griddle (makes best hash browns);-nonstick plates;-can buy waffle plates to make waffles;-can make eggs, bacon, hash browns at the same time when it’s flatCons:-Buttons that hold the grill plates are plastic and don’t last long-Warranty is three years, but if you contact them, they require you to ship the entire product back and shipping is over $34 through the U.S. Postal Service on ground shipping (not priority). You’re expected to pay $10 in addition to get a repaired/refurbished/potentially new one back.

Recently, I threw out a grill pan because it became impossible to clean despite being “non-stick.” So this brought me to look for an indoor grill. At first, I considered a UV grill, but found this Cuisinart 5-in-1. It’s so easy to use. Just select Grill or Griddle, put in the correct pans and follow the directions in the booklet for what heat level to use. I’ve made a few grilled sandwiches in it and they came out great. The plates are easy to clean and it comes with a plastic scraper. A shame Cuisinart did not have the forethought to build in a slot to store the scraper. Instead it is loose. WAFFLES-This listing also comes with waffle plates. Unfortunately, there was no way to OPT OUT of them. Since I never make waffles, I feel like Amazon/this seller rips people off by forcing an upsale.

I really like this indoor grill. Has not triggered my smoke alarm yet, but the smoke isn’t that much really. Very portable and easy to wash. Cooks quick and you can adjust the temperature depending on what you are making. It’s absolutely super useful! You should buy this!

I REALLY LIKE THIS GRIDDLER. I HAVE MADE SANDWICHES AND STEAK ON IT AND IT WORKS GREAT. EVEN WHEN USING THE ‘SMOKELESS’ MENU, I STILL HAD SOME SMOKE, BUT IT WASN’T BAD AT ALL. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO OPERATE THE CONTROL PANEL FOR TEMPERATURE, ETC. ONCE I HAD THAT MANAGED, ALL WAS GOOD. VERY EASY TO CLEAN AND NOT TOO BIG OF AN APPLICANCE. I KEEP IT OUT ALL THE TIME ON MY KITCHEN COUNTER-TOP. VERY HANDY FOR A WARMED SANDWICH, ESPECIALLY DURING WINTER. HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS.

After much research, this griller was the one I picked and I couldn’t be happier!! I love to shop Amazon, but if I can get a product in the store locally, I will do that. Wal-mart had these on their shelves, but they charged almost $15 more for it and they no longer price-match (can’t compete with Amazon!). So yes, I had to wait 2 days for shipping (loves me the Prime!!) but I used it the same night and it was awesome!! Follow the directions on heating so you don’t overcook your choice meat. My wife is a charcoal-grilling expert and loves to grill that way, but when there is bad weather outside or we need food fast, this grill is the way to go and now she uses it more than me!! I love the dual purpose grill plates and they are so easy to clean!! I’ve done pannini, grill, sear and griddle and have not been disappointed on the end product.

Bought to this Cuisinart 5-in-1 Griddler to replace a similar Faberware one that didn’t make pass a year and a half, and that last half year, the Faberware was barely a useful hot plate. Worked ok in griddle more, but when converted to flat griddle, it barely got warm. I was able to place my whole hand on it without getting burnt. That being said, I wouldn’t dare do that with this Cuisiart Griddler, when it gets hot, it gets scorching. I find myself having to dial down the temperature a but compare to my old griddle. Get panini nice and toasted in no time, but I use the griddle more often on this device, making pancakes during the weekends. The pancakes come off the griddle with a uniform tan color, not too raw, and not too over cooked. Griddle is large enough that I can get a good dozen silver dollar size pancakes going all at once.Outside of the hot plate, I like the mechanical switch between griddle and press mode, something the Faberware one lacked. The Faberware was more like a turning volume style knob, versus an actual toggle switch. It’s either set to press/griddle or its not, none of this continuously twisting the knob until it figures out what you want it to do.Only real test left is to see how long it will last. I got just over a year with the other brand, hoping Cuisinart will not disappoint with this griddle.I have no issue currently recommending this product to anyone looking for something similar.

The first thing I noticed was that this said “Smoke-less” instead of “smokeless”. One character, major difference. So I was like “Smrt move mate, got yo-self a cheap knockoff”. But thankfully all it knocked off was the amount of work it takes to grill. So yeah, it gets smoke, but not as much as Oliver Queen. I’ll say there’s “less” smoke in the special mode. Except venison, it almost alerted a red suited hunk on the other side of the country and I thought I might give Bambi PTSD.The one weird thing smoke-less mode does is set the temperature automatically. For an uncivilized pleb like me it works great, but if you want to pretend a single degree will make a difference that mode may not be for you. I’m not chicken to grill up some poultry now. Instead of choosing a temperature, you choose a meat. I know there’s beef, pork, chicken (yum), but I think there’s 5 options? Maybe fish or something, that sounds like something someone might grill sometime. So far the presets have worked good and cooked fast.As for the X-in-1 settings (What was it again, 5?) I THINK I’ve used them all. Double clamshell grill is a real pearl. The griddle is 50-50. The bottom side always works but I feel I have to Hulk the top one to make it flat. And it still seems to have a bit of a slant.I keep forgetting about panini bread so haven’t made fancy unburnt grilled cheese yet but I figure that one will work fine too. And then there’s half-and-half or whatever? I never thought I’d use that but I made eggs and sausage at the same time as a grill and griddle at different temperatures and it was easy-peasy-jungle-breezy.So what you probably all care about; is it SEARendipitous does it do a SEARry excuse of a job? I think it does okay. I’ve cooked steak on it a few times and it still gets that weird half-zombie color since it’s on an electric grill but I think it’s a Rare feat for a grill heat up Medium fast and do the job. Well Done, less-smokey!Cleanup’s been easy so far. No coating in the food yet. At least, no detectable superpowers and honey still sticks to me so I’m guessing it’s all good. I’ve just cleaned them by hand since This Old House doesn’t have a dishwasher so… Yeah. The plates come off and they say it’s dishwasher safe so hopefully that’s true. Now they’re a few weird settings that take some getting used to. Like that it cycles through the settings automatically when it’s choosing a cooking mode and what plates to use. Here I was jamming that button thinking “This button is less responsive than a street crossing signal” then after a few weeks of mindless pressing realized the settings moved on their own. Whoa. Like, why not let me speed through the process?Choosing Normal mode the buttons are responsive though. Temperature goes up in 25 degree increments and if you weren’t paying attention before each half can be set separately. Cooking has been even, no complaints. And it’s FAST. Like 5 minutes for a half pound burger when it’s heated up. I burnt the Beef right out of it the first time since the 1-star grill this replaced took over 20 to cook. I still ate it though. Also the drip tray is kind of weird. It’s still magic to me how it gets down there since it’s like, in the middle on one side. But SOMETHING’S getting in there and it ain’t something I’m about to mix in with my evening cocktail. But yeah, even with some of the weirdness this might be the best grill I’ve had so far. Definitely better than what it replaced. Give it a go and maybe if enough people buy it they’ll come out with a doughnut attachment. Or a meat doughnut attachment, I’d be fine with that too.

This product is great….while it works. I had it for a little under a year. The cord/plug now get EXTREMELY hot when I use it so I’m afraid to use it now. I used other electric appliances in the outlet so I know it’s not the outlet. Also, the drip pan seems to have melted (it’s on the back of the unit) so I can’t remove it to clean it. I purchased an extended warranty. Contacted them. They said it appears it’s still under warranty from Cuinsart. Tried for a week to reach them (I don’t have all day to hold waiting for someone to pick up the phone). Bottom line…..I would have to pay $10 to have a new unit shipped to me and I would also have to pay the shipping to return the defective unit. I’ve never heard of anything so ridiculous. I will NEVER purchase another Cuisinart product.

We have owned this now for over 6 months and still use it at least 1xWeek. This is significantly higher quality than then lower-priced Cuisinart Griddlers. One big difference is the enclosed heating elements, which are actually embedded in the Cooking plates. The Non-Stick Cooking Plates are extremely high-quality. We use this for Pancakes all the time, and the cooking surface is large enough to make 10-12 pancakes at a time. The top and bottom cooking plates can be independently adjusted, allowing for you cook on one side, and keep things warm on the other, or cook bacon and sausage on one side, and pancakes on the other. Cooking Paninis with this thing is awesome. Creates nice grill marks on the bread, even without buttering the bread. Makes a nice crisp sandwich that is perfectly heated all the way through (Bread, Apple Butter, Thinly Sliced Apples, Swiss Cheese, Turkey, & Spinach – Boom!). Making burgers on this is nice, cooks in half the time (think 4-5 minutes, total cooking time). I especially like the adjustment on the side, that allows you to adjust the height of the top plate. Usually you have it press on the food to cook it, but when you want to melt cheese on something (like a burger), you can easily adjust the top plate so it is just slightly above the cheese, melting it quickly. My only complaint, is that it can take a while to pre-heat (5-10 minutes). But other than that, this thing is awesome.FYI: The GR-300WS is NOT compatible with Waffle the Plates (GR-WAFP), Amazon lists it as “Frequently Purchased Together”, but they not compatible.

And that’s because I craft tasty grilled paninis and serve up flawless fluffy flapjacks, I sear sizzling steaks and crank out custom lunchbox creations in mere minutes! Then I wipe down the counters and clean the machine and I’m back in bed ready to get my due rewards for hitting the spot with my culinary creations. This thing is pure magic. It turns white bread sandwiches into gourmet offerings. Soon you will be at your local farmers market browsing the hand-made bread, filling your basket with brioche and focaccia loaves. Your refrigerator will be filled with sliced meats and cheeses and various jarred pickled things. You will have ziplock bags of sliced onions and half-sliced tomatoes – all of these things waiting for you to assemble a mega-stack of kapow straight from flavortown and slap that monster onto the press and let the machine transform that into a melty, crispy, warm, gooey manwich of pure magical emotional satisfaction. It also, as before mentioned, makes perfect pancakes. I mean perfect. And then you clean it up and you clear the drip tray every so often and that’s it. Super easy to clean. Between this gadget and my insta-pot I hardly use the stove anymore .The only cons: uh, the very top of the machine gets pretty damn hot, obviously – the top heating coil is right underneath that housing. I have noticed the bottom heating element is stronger and more consistent when using the griddle sides of the plates (when making pancakes). Metal utensils seem to scratch the plates – I switched to plastic spatulas for this guy. Getting extremely tall stack sandwiches to melt down between the press is an art – sometimes the angle of the top plate makes it difficult to not push the sandwich diagonal. All in all – I love this thing. A++ 5*

If your expectations are reasonable, this is a great toasted sandwich maker. The timing of the indicator lights is accurate. Butter the outside of your sandwich, put it in, close it up, plug in the unit, and when the light turns green, you have a great toasted sandwich. It’s not magically self-cleaning, but give me a break – it’s a $20 toasted sandwich maker. The cord wrap is a big plus for me. Keeps it from getting tangled up with all the other corded gizmos in the cupboard.

You can grill steaks using the ridged side, use smooth side for a variety of food. The none stick surface cleans up very easy. I’ve been using for five months twice a week and none stick hasn’t discolored even when set on sear mode. Some have said griddle doesn’t drain. The actual griddle has a slight slope cast into it and does drain to back. It’s not a G. Forman which is sloped so much I had trouble with food sliding off before I can close it. Attached is a video of bacon cooking on my griddle. If you look close at grease, it is slowly draining. I like to cook steaks or hamburger in its own grease which gives better flavor.Sear Mode works great. See picture of steak with sear marks. Steak cooked to internal temperature 127* using Thermapen. In 4 minutes. Medium rare. I also bought waffle griddle. This model will make six waffles at a time. Love this griddle.

This is an update to mt review from January 18th, 2020. Today is January 20th, and sitting just outside my door is a brand new Griddler. Excellent customer service and YES, they do stand behind their product.I purchased this on November 4th, 2019. It is Now January 18th, 2020. I have cooked everything from breakfast to dinner, and loved how it performed, up until this past week. The plates are held in place with clamps that can be released for cleaning. One of the clamps has failed, and from what I can see is irreparable. I am going to contact customer service in hopes they will replace the unit. If not they will lose a “STAR”. For the $114.00 spent, I would hope a company the size of Cuisinart would stand behind what they sell.MORE TO COME.

I bought this two years ago. I really liked it at first, sans the dripping fat down the back, and I even purchased one for my daughter in college. After about a year, I found it didn’t sear near as well as it did when new. The last time I used it, I made two 1/2-in burgers. I pre-heated it on high for 15 minutes – it ended up with a semi brown mess. I have since thrown it away. I never said anything to my daughter about it – she called last week and said, “Mom, I hate to tell you this, but I don’t much like this unit.” She had the exact same problems. Shheeez – $200 down the drain. Now I’m searching for a replacement.

Purchase in early February. Takes a long time to heat up to temperature. Less than 4 months of use and the protective coating is pealing off the lower griddle. We use nothing that could cause this! Only plastic and silicone utensils. It is pealing from within the channels. Some pieces that have come off are about the size of a dime. Others small pebble size. No response from Amazon on what to do. High Price does NOT mean high quality. Would NOT buy again! Only thing reasonable was the extended warranty which I plan to use since no response from Amazon!

I already had one of these sandwich makers and the grandchildren wanted to use it every time they came so I decided maybe I would start and buy them one. I would recommend the Cuisinart because it never fails and seems to last forever. For the price it is the best.

How do I love this griddle… let me count the ways…I am back to buy the waffle attachment and realized I didn’t review this amazing purchase, so here goes, almost 2 years owning it.For the most part, I cook 3 meals a day for my family, I prefer homemade, from scratch, and make every effort to keep it all healthy. We’ve made everything from a fried egg to tortillas, amazing grilled cheese, panini, pancakes, burgers, chicken, steak, shrimp, I could go on and on! We use it to heat things as well because I avoid a microwave.I’ll start with the 1 CON:-Nonstick is tricky, it causes cancer if scratched, so I make every effort not to scratch it, and replacing the inset is a great way to keep the family healthy.PROS:-Easy Clean up-Gets to temp FAST-Even heat-Modest footprint in the kitchen but opens up if you need to-Price is a great value-With a TON of use for close to 2 years, it’s still good as new-Allows for additional inserts so now, instead of adding a waffle iron to my kitchen I can just turn it into one by buying the waffle inserts, so less clutter which is always a huge plus for meI can’t recommend this enough for a healthy yet busy family!

I don’t normally rate items, but seeing the bad reviews forced me to respond.I’ve had my Cuisinart Griddler Elite for more than two years now. The surface is still in great condition and I still love using it. Cleaning is VERY easy, height adjustment works fine. The only issue that i would agree with from previous comments is that it takes longer to heat that i would expect. It takes about 5 to ten minutes for it to get to 375C.I follow the normal non-stick surface care instructions:1. No Metal Utinsils2. No dish washing machine3. Wipe clean with light soap and warn water

It keeps a solid temp on the plates in pretty much any configuration. There are slight hotspots, but nothing to really concern yourself about as they are not too much different then working on any electric stove.I have made probably 40 panini, 15 burgers, french toast, fried eggs, scrambled eggs and sausage on it so far.As an panini press… superb. No complaints what so ever.As an indoor grill… Very little smoke because cook times are so short and you don’t have open air. I can fast cook 4 good sized (5 in) burgers on this and end up with far less smoke then 1 on the stove top. It takes about 3 minutes for a fresh ground 5 in 5oz patty to cook fully, with GREAT grill marks (45 degree turn 60 seconds into cooking). As a flat top grill… Ehh… that is where this falls a bit flat for me. But, My wife adores it. I do not personally like the split in the middle when it opens up. Yes. That is clearly my personal preference having been trained as a short order on a flat top by my grandmother. However, my wife loves that she can keep one side “fatty” like sausage and bacon, and the other side for butter cooking at a different temp. Admittedly she has a good point and I cant afford a house that has a dedicated flat top, so… there is a point to be made there. This thing does so well, that when we had a recent B-Day party for my child, I decided the best thing to make for food was panini. I picked up maybe 40 bucks in lunch meat and 15 in breads and easily was able to feed 12 people hot food with under 30 minutes in the kitchen. If this breaks, I will buy another again without hesitation or remorse while the broken one goes to repair. Then I would just give the repair to someone I like.

I still enjoy my Griddler and use it almost daily. I stand by my initial review, but a funny thing happened. I sort of pooh-poohed the comments about the ‘flimsy power button’ that would unexpectedly pop off even with careful handling. I attributed the complaints to rough handling, and vowed to be very very gentle turning the device on and off. I don’t know how or when mine popped off, but I found it being played with by my cats. It probably popped off when I last used it and then ‘somehow’ fell off the counter [meow].Anyway, I was leery of super-gluing it back in place so it’s temporarily held there with tape. Funny that such an otherwise really nice machine as this has such a really stupid flaw that should have been remedied when the manufacturer (or Amazon) got lots of the same complaints.Always read the one star reviews before purchase. If the same problems are a common thread, there’s a red flag. In this case it’s an annoyance, not worthy of the hassle of returning the item. Chances are you’d get the same design flaw, anyway, since so many people mentioned it.I never purchase anything that has a 1 star rating at or over 7% unless those ratings don’t seem directly product related (i.e. ‘didn’t like it’ ‘too big/small’ ‘damaged in transit’ ‘liked my old one better’)

I had a different Cuisinart griddler previously that finally gave out when one of the griddle-plate fittings cracked. When I grilled steak, it created huge amounts of smoke, which gave me coughing fits and necessitated turning on the fan in the vent hood. The fan noise terrified my young Havanese, so whenever he saw me get out that griddle, he started shaking and looked for a place to hide. WIth the new Smoke-Less Griddler, there was much less smoke and Gatsby doesn’t have a panic attack when he sees it.

We use a counter-top grill for most of our meals. Ours died (don’t remember the brand but it was not Cuisinart) about 2 years ago. We bought a Hamilton Beach, but it just didn’t warm up as fast as the one that died. I gave it to our son. He needs to learn patience. I just don’t have time for it. We ordered the Cuisinart. There was a crack just above the display when or shortly after we bought it. After a little less than 2 years it started acting flaky. The display would light up when not in use, and the temp for one of the plates wouldn’t show up on the display. I’m guessing that a little oil worked its way into the circuitry. I had bought it through Amazon, so I looked up the date, and it was still under warranty – barely. It was almost 2 years old, and I didn’t know what Cuisinart would do about the warranty. We loved the grill. It gets hot fast, and it’s easy to clean. Just pop the grill plates off and stick ’em in the dishwasher. I ordered a replacement, and at the same time contacted Cuisinart. We now have two, and that is OK. Cuisinart was awesome about the warranty. They shipped us a replacement after about 2 weeks. I stuck the old one in the box the replacement came in, printed out the return label, and dropped it off at UPS. I guess I could give the extra one to my son, but he already has a grill, and he probably wouldn’t appreciate it. This thing is awesome. I’m happy to have a spare.

Really love this product and have had it about a month. Getting ready to do steaks tonight. I am so very excited because I haven’t had a steak since the start of COVID. It really smokes far less than expected. Heats evenly. Soooooo easy to clean and versatile. I happen to love it along with my foodi.

I bought this to replace a George Foreman Grill with removable plates (which I DEARLY loved but the plates were completely worn). I selected this model because it looks good and more versatile than my old grill for about the same price. It was carefully packaged and received on time. My first impression was that it must be flimsy since it was so much lighter than my old one. But after inspecting it and washing the plates, I realized that the main difference in weight was the plates. Not only are they considerably lighter in weight, they are much easier to remove and clean. The main reason the plates in my old one failed is because they were very clumsy to remove and clean after every use, so I neglected cleaning it way more than I should have. After grilling my first hamburger, I fell in love with this grill. Not only was cleaning a breeze, but it seemed like the burger tasted much better. So I decided to try a panini (which was completely new to me). I sliced a hunk of kielbasi in half lengthwise and grilled it, then put it between 2 slices of bread and made my first ever panini. Now I’m hooked and looking forward to new cooking adventures to broaden my cooking horizons. Only time will tell how long this thing will last, but for now I’m enjoying it and it looks good sitting on my counter. After using it for a month, I still love it, but I’m glad I bought the brush. It really makes cleanup a breeze!

I can’t say enough great compliments about this griddle. We had a Hamilton Beach griddle with two plates (one ribbed and the other flat) which we used consistently two or three times a week for many, many years and were slow to replace because we loved cooking with it so much. My husband and I have decided that this one is better. There is no timer (which the Hamilton Beach had) so that I didn’t have to keep resetting it. It also has controls of the heat which is very useful as well as the two plate construction that we liked in the former griddle, but it’s now just one reversible plate with the Cuisinart. We’ve made our usuals on it such as hamburgers, steaks, chicken, Italian sausage and peppers as well as pressed sandwiches like Cubans. All came out perfect! Also, one of the features that we liked about our former griddle was that we could cook meat right from the freezer to the griddle. The Cuisinart griddle is no exception. It’s very convenient to be able to grab something out of the freezer and just place it on the griddle. I don’t know what the other reviewers were complaining about, but hooray for the Cuisinart griddle!!!

I’m a chef, so perhaps my expectations are too high, but I was entirely disappointed in this product. It has so much promise, but it looks and feels cheaply made. It is very light, and it rattles when you move it because none of the parts fit snugly. I can’t imagine it has the durability to last long especially if is used a lot. The grease trap is awkward and a bit of a challenge to remove. It does not cook well. The handbook says it takes 10 minutes to heat up – try more like 20 minutes. The minute you put food on it, the temperature drops precipitously, so for most of the cooking time, the grill is struggling to get up to temp. The pannini function is sketchy at best because the top griddle is not heavy enough to heat product effectively or to get good grill marks. As a professional cook, I would not purchase or recommend this product. A good cast iron skillet does a better job and lasts forever. As it is, the griddle does not live up to the Cusinart name, which until I ordered this, has always meant good quality products that cook well and last a long time – not this one.

Dear Cuisinart 5-in-1 Griddler, Hello, it’s me, Melissa. Let me not beat around the bush – I love you. I love you more than any other panini grill I’ve ever had. If there was a fire and I had to choose what to take with me, it would be you in one arm and my two kids in the other. I have never felt such strong emotions in a very long time. I feel like a giddy high school girl gushing about her first crush. This is what you do to me, Cuisinart 5-in-1 griddler. There were many times I forgot I had something in you, only for me to scream “Oohhhh nooo!!” and run back to the kitchen with no smell of smoke or any burnt pieces. And then, you surprise me with a perfectly baked cracker or crouton that turns out to be a wonderful mistake. Your anti-burn technology is to be the envy of all other panini grills.I wish I had met you earlier. I could have experienced many more perfectly grilled cheese sandwiches, empanadas, and toasts. Alas, we met late in the game. Better late than never!

2 months in, used about 20 times, and I LOVE IT !! STILL SUPER CLEAN!! It will truly bring your cooking to another level with some imagination! It is absolutely one the best product I have ever purchased.. from double grill, to double griddle, or grill, griddler combo..sky’s the limit!! You will learn you need to use a fewtimes to learn its capabilities, and temperature control, but it really brings out the skills that are useful for other appliances. From grilled NY strip steak to lamb to duck breast, Cornish hens, cheese burgers, hot dogs, grilled veggies, chicken wings, breakfast, hands down this is the best indoor grill/griddle/ panini/broiler without Gas. Electric!! Downside, Lower plate heats up more than upper even set at the same temperature but you learn how to manage it. I don’t mind how long it takes to heat up either, that may be a con for some but it does the job very well and beyond your expectations. You won’t regret it. Trust me

We really like this little grill & griddle combo. Got it for my 79 yr. old mom. She likes it. Clean up is so easy; just pop off the grill plates, soak a few minutes in the sink, and voila! Here is what we cooked on this so far: Burgers, paninis, toast, burritos, hot dogs, fried eggs, pancakes, sauted onions, sausages, chicken breasts, grilled cheese. This unit doesn’t have an auto shutoff, but it does have a timer. We like this better than the bulkier big three knob design. Knowing The digital preset temperature is soooo much better. The footprint of this unit is perfectly sized. Nevertheless, we are deducting just one star because when opened fully, it isn’t completely flat, almost,…about 99% flat. I understand the slight grade is for helping juices and oils to run to the middle so they collect into the hidden little oil/grease pan. However, this makes my liquid scrambled eggs run to that middle draining area and off the griddle. Noooooo! Frying eggs are fine. No problemo. Scrambled eggs not so much. Pancakes, however, work because the batter is thicker. Just saying there should be a way to get the griddle 100% flat. And in a perfect world, if Cuisinart would make the edges to the griddle sided pans just a little deeper, that too would be a help making scrambled eggs. Fix that, and you get five stars. That being said, would I recommend this product? Oh Yeah! You bet! We use ours almost daily.

Great product. Had the smaller Cuisinart that had a diff temp between top and bottom cooking grids, single temp control for both. Replaced with this Deluxe model. It is classy looking as others posted. Functions I appreciate are: 6 position Adjustable floating lid, separate temp controls for top and bottom. Range from 200 Warm to 450 High + 500 Sear mode. Higher watts in this model made a big difference and so far, temps are equal with both controls on same temp. Lid locks closed where smaller model did not lock closed when storing. Larger cooking area, even for 2 people. Now can make full sized sandwiches with large sourdough bread. Improved drip tray runs along rear of griddle. Angled in open position so grease flows to back and into drip tray. Also grids have angles at rear to guide flow of liquid into channel for drip tray. Other models lack that angle in grids and others reported grease running off back of grids onto counter. Also like that I can preheat for cooking @ 350. Then push top, bottom or both sear buttons. Red light comes on until reaches 500 degrees, then flashes green 10 seconds (time to put meat on), then 2 minute sear and shuts off sear temp. Then returns to original preset cooking temp. Much better design and function than the GN4N smaller model. If you are looking to use it to cook, grill and make great sandwiches on a lot, pay the extra money and get this model. They also make the Elite which is more money and has LCD panel, same functions as this model. I am very pleased with this model and look forward to using it for tomorrow nights steak dinner.UPDATE! Used my new GR-150 to cook burgers and last night, New York Steaks, came out wonderful. I am real picky about meat and this gem does not cook out the flavor like some indoor cookers tend to do. Purchased a 2nd one today as a surprise gift for daughter and son-in-law. They have an old Cuisinart just plug it in, one temp, no reversable plates. Did not include a msg on the gift card. So they will one by one call every person in their large fam to see who to thank! Of course, I am the only one who knows, even my wife will not know. Eventually she will put two and two together when she sees they received identical as my new one. Last comment the separate temp controls are the way to go and my model heats evenly between top and bottom when on same temp setting. Last tip since it is stainless top. When you remove the long sticker on the top, it will leave an imprint of where the sticker was. You will not feel glue but will see the square where it was. Took me awhile to get rid of it! Did like I do on my stainless bbq hood. Put small amount of Goop Off Liquid on paper towel or soft rag. Lightly rub with grain of stainless. Then final dry wipe down with clean lint free rag along grain. The obvious square will be gone forever. If you clean the top and get water spots, etc. A little goop off as a final rub will remove all of the above.UPDATE: Cooked steaks on griddler, came out perfect (used meat thermo). But some splatter on sides from gap between plates. Lifted bottom plates off and placed aluminum foil along edge and down sides, then put grill plate back on. Also draped aluminum along front as prev steak had grease splatter on controls. See photo as the foil trick did the job! No grease spatter to clean off griddler! Also made our first McMuffin today. Poached eggs first with pancake ring on griddle smooth plate side. Wiped off and built our English muffin, poached egg, Canadian bacon, topped with sliced medium cheddar. Preheated grill plates closed @400 degrees. When green light came on, sandwiches onto griddle plate. Then floated adjustable lid to contact top bun. Did not put anything onto bun inside or out. Let is cook at 400 until good cheese melt, 5 minutes. Then turned off and let sit with lid closed another 2 min. Removed and served wonderful McD’s style breakfast. Was so easy and tasty, not dry and buns were lightly crisp but not browned like when using oil on top bottom. Wife loved hers and I added small amount of black raspberry all fruit to the inside top bun, yummy! See photos. Purchased 2 more of these for our children and small family. Like product the more I use it! Worth the extra $$ compared to smaller unit with much less features. I use a meat thermometer when cooking meat on grill. Takes guesswork out of when its done! I like my steak medium rare, wife prefers medium well. Problem when on same grill in closed position. Problem solved! I use the ThermoPro TC-10 meat thermometer, which has meat type presets (or you can program specific temp if you wish). I preheat griddler @ 450 closed position. After 8min preheat, I press the two sear buttons, which turn red. After 3-4min they flash green, which gives me 10 seconds to place meat on grill, then light turns solid green (sear) for 2 minutes. After 2 min, sear light turns off and top and bottom temp control lights come back on green (they turn off during sear mode). Quickly, I lift top 1/3 open and with oven mitt, push down on front to unlock swivel. Then slide side height slide adjuster to 3rd click and immediately close lid onto steaks. Sounds like a lot but after couple times you’ll be quick at the routine. The 3rd click will work great for most of my closed cooking, with burger patties and steaks up to 1″ thick. Finally insert wireless temp probe into side of meat thru space between plates and turn onto desired setting. Set it at Beef, Medium (for wife). With the Thermo Pro, it flashes blue when probe above 50, then when within 10 degrees of cooked temp, flashes green. I then pull my steak off quickly and close lid to finish wifes steak. When cooked medium, unity will flash Red and beep. Hers is now cooked the way she likes it and mine is not overcooked. Used the ThermoPro to cook hamburgers, selected ground beef on menu. Did the blue, green and red cycles. Removed hamb patties right away and set aside for 5min rest. They were cooked medium, no pink, juicy and tasty. No more greasy in the skillet meat for us! ThermoPro also makes the TC-11 which has a wireless remote! One piece is probe which displays meat temp on unit base. Wireless remote is where you program easy menu and get the temp + color screens. I have one of each. Quick hamburger, I use the TC-10 without remote. If cooking something slower and lazy, I use the wireless remote model so can monitor while watching TV. Both models work great and I have found them very usefull when cooking meat on this griddler. Especially not having to guess the proper cooking temps. Just pick the meat type and the ThermoPro does the rest. There are things which are not in the book that I found out by trial and error. For example, my other recent lower priced and smaller Cuisinart was double adjusters for temp but basically did same. 1 temp for top and bottom. This model cooks perfect with same temp but adjustable! So, top bottom cooking, both knobs go on same temp. If I want to turn top or bottom off, have that option. Or turn 1 higher lower than other. The prev model did not mention that sear only stays on for 2 min and shuts off. When I contacted Mfg, they had not a clue and said defective, pay $12 ship and $12 return for exchange, I think not! Turns out this model explains that the sear mode works 2min and shuts off as it is designed! Other was not defective after all! What really makes this model stand out is with most of their other models, the set temp will turn on for awhile, then turn off, sometimes for to long, then cycle back on. Have counted as high as 12 min between cycles! So food temp goes up and down with the plate temps. This model DOES NOT CYCLE and I thought at first defective. Contacted mfg and at least they knew this one is designed to maintain constant temp! So green light on knobs will not turn on off on this unit which is IDEAL! Constant cooking temp is the safe and effective way to cook! We have a flattop elec stove does same thing! Burner gets hot, cycles on and off, cannot keep constant temp, very aggravating. I will be using this more and more to cook with. Hope you enjoy my photos

I really like the Cuisinart Grill. It is just the right size and cooks both sides of the food item evenly and at the same time. The grill plates have 2 sides, one for grilling stakes or panini sandwiches, and the other side for grilling pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc.. It is easy to set the the temperature to handle different items. The grill plates are non-stick and are easily removed for easy cleaning. The grill has a removable try that collects grease and runoff from whatever you are grilling. Very easy to remove and clean. Also, the grill has a floating top grill that automatically adjusts for the thickness of your food item. I am very happy with my purchase, I use this grill several times week.

Heads-up. I got mine today and used it twice. One thing I learned using a infrared thermo is that the Grill vs Griddle setting seems to have an unexpected effect. I actually called Cuisinart to ask why there is a Grill and a Griddle setting required before you can set the temp. Why wouldn’t 350 be the same whether you are using the grill vs the griddle? Makes no sense and seems overly complicated. What I discovered by measuring is that the Grill setting runs cooler than Griddle. When you start with Griddle, the surface temp matches the dial temp. Using the Grill setting, the surface temp runs around 25 degrees cooler than the dial temp. Maybe there’s some reason for this but it certainly isn’t made clear in the manual. The Cuisinart rep who answered my call couldn’t answer what the difference is between setting 350 on Grill vs Griddle but my testing shows there is a difference in the surface temp of the cooking plate.

The ONLY bad thing about this product is you’ll gain about 5lbs eating waffles regularly. It’s so easy to make waffles & clean up that they are no longer a special breakfast, they are the norm.BUT, you’re also the cool mom who makes the special breakfast like it’s nothing…because it is!I mastered chocolate, banana, sunflower seed butter & chocolate chip waffles. My favorite experiment were the savory waffles that we used to make egg bacon sandwiches with…Mmmmm.

OMG this thing is amazing. I should probably wait longer to review, but this is my third panini/grill and it blows the rest away. Cooks perfectly, awesome grill marks, excellent design down to the drip tray, and super easy to clean. They give you a cleaning tool that is perfect for scraping and helping loosen stuff up too. I just remove the plates, scape with the tool and then scrub with a plastic scouring sponge and some dish detergent and rinse and wipe with paper towels. I know it sounds like a lot of work but it isn’t, and it looks like new after. The removable plates are just awesome. I’ve cooked steaks, chicken and brats, all came out perfect. Timer and heat controls are super easy. I love this thing.

Overall I am very impressed with this product. I bought it as a substitute for using my outdoor grill in the winter months. And after my initial use I believe it will do that and more. What I like:-It’s a simple and modern/clean looking design-It’s not clear in the photos, but the plates are reversible with a flat surface on the back-Its relatively light weight(about 15lbs) and stores away easily-The plates are securely held in and easily removed with a press of simple locking mechanism on each one-It heats up FAST about 5 minutes to get to 400*-The top plate is held in place with a pin that when you press down on something (like a chicken breast) it allows it to “pop” free and hinge so that it becomes flat on an uneven foodWhat I don’t like:-The temperature control wont allow you to adjust the temp once the unit has reached its set temperature. You have to turn it off and re-set it to the desired temp and it has to go through its “pre heat” cycle even if you are reducing the temperature. It’s not really a big problem because the plates are still very hot, it’s just more of a design oversight than anything else. It wouldn’t prohibit me from buying it even if I knew this beforehand. I admit I didn’t read the instructions, I will go back and read them and update this if I discover that this is an error on my partSide notes: some reviews indicate that the user’s experienced peeling of the non-stick material on the plates. I haven’t experienced this yet and I don’t see anything in the design of the plates that would make this an inherent problem. But I will update my review if this becomes an issue for me.Thoughts:-Although they say they are dishwasher safe – my recommendation is to hand wash them. It’s possible that over repeated runs through the dishwasher, the high heat combined with the abrasive detergent (remember this stuff is made to strip grease) could break down the coating and cause it to wear off prematurely. -Also (obviously) don’t use metallic scrapers on the surface as this can scratch the coating, allowing it to flake off eventually-It would be nice I’d there was an option or and after market part to turn the plates into just plain stainless steel surface to eliminate this problem, but basically everything these days is non-stick

These plates are perfect for our Griddler. Easy to install, easy to clean (we really love the OXO Good Grips Electric Grill and Panini Press Brush, works really well on the Griddler plates) This is my second set of Griddler Waffle Plates – I love them so much that they were worth buying again but here are three things I learned that may prevent you from buying a second set in the future:1. The instructions state to spray the plates with non-stick spray prior to use. Do not do this. The plates are already made from high-quality non-stick material and this step is not necessary – in fact it will make the plates eventually an unusable sticky mess. In my experience, using non-stick spray ruins these plates because eventually they will not work properly and you will have to scrape to remove the waffles which by then are a giant pile of cooked batter mess.2. Do not run through the dishwasher. Again, the instructions state that these are dishwasher safe, but save your bucks and handwash these plates! I’m not sure which of these two ultimately lead to the demise of my first set, but I can’t think that a high-heat wash setting in the dishwasher did much to help either. Carefully hand wash (again we use the OXO Good Grips Electric Grill and Panini Press Brush and/or a Norwex cloth with great results)3. So obvious, but DO NOT use anything but the rubber spatula that came with your Griddler to remove waffles. Period. If you scratch the surface, start saving for another set! Speaking from experience, without thinking I removed waffles with a fork here and there – knicking the surface a few times and it became a big deal when the surface began to rust and peel after washing. Something about serving food cooked on peeling & rusting surfaces isn’t really appealing to me :)Although it may be a little time-consuming, it is worth it every time to preserve these quality plates! I can see them lasting many years when properly cared for.

This Griddler is Amazing. Hesitate no longer. I cannot have a gas grill on my patio and I’ve really been missing my built-in Fire Magic triple burner gas grill. My neighbor got an electric Weber outdoor Grill. Every time they cooked the smell was driving me crazy so I began my research. For outdoor – Weber is really the only way to go but the grill is $300 and the stand is $100. Came across Cuisinart and other indoor grills similar to it. Read the reviews – watched Youtube videos etc. I loved the idea of contact searing on both top and bottom at the same time. Not only is the cook time much faster but you loose less meat juice and the cooking is more consistent throughout and there is no spattering all over the kitchen. It’s much easier to understand all the dials and buttons than you would think. The manual tells you exactly what temperature and how long to cook everything leaving out the guesswork and experimentation. So my first meal on the Elite was perfect. And so was the next 3 times times I’ve used it. It even tells you how to cook Pizza. Looking forward to trying that. It blinks and says “preheat” upper or lower or both on the screen and beeps when hit the set temperature. Set the timer and it beeps again when it’s ready. So Easy and fast you won’t believe it. I like it much, much better than my outdoor grill. I sit the grill on top of my cold glass cooktop(that I HATE cleaning) and turn on the exhaust fan when grilling meat. The grill gets VERY hot Especially on sear so It will smoke a lot (NOT as much as a gas grill) like anything you would sear in a stainless pan. It seems to me to be of substantial quality and durability. We shall see because I will be using this OFTEN. I never cooked pancakes or french toast because I never had a pan to cook enough at once. You can easy fit 8 Slices of french toast – 4 on each side. It cooks evenly and perfectly at 350 degrees the booklet suggests. The grill plates easily change from one side to the other. Pork chops were an ordeal of searing in stainless pan and braising in the oven for an hour before tender enough to eat. The 1 inch thick chop in the pic was marinated in Allegra and 7-9 minutes later it’s ready to rest then eat. I turned it part way to get criss cross grill marks. The booklet did not recommend sear so this was not cooked on sear it was 425 degrees. The difference in color of the french toast is due to the amount of cinnamon each picked up from the batter. The cooking is very even. I’ll post more pictures going forward.

We’ve only had this product a little less than two weeks, but our appreciation of it is much better than we could have imagined. We cooked on it about ten times, so far. Initially, when reading the reviews, We were a little concerned about the right temperature setting to be used for Panini’s and for waffles (which is the only thing we have cooked, so far), but it could not have been easier, much to our amazement. Even the first use produced delicious results, and it has only gotten better since. The Panini’s are incredibly delicious. Prior to this purchase, we used to occasionally eat Panini’s at our local Corner Bakery Café (a chain restaurant in So.Cal.), but ours taste just as good as theirs (if not better), and ours are much cheaper, too! We cook the Panini’s on high for four minutes. The waffles are also delicious; the best we’ve had in years, and we don’t notice any difference in the color between the top and the bottom. They are cooked at 400 degrees for four minutes, just like the Panini’s.Caution: even though the instructions warn about this, just make sure you DO NOT touch ANYTHING but the handle when the Griddler is in operation. Even the lid is very hot and you will easily get burned! Our only area of concern about this machine is when we read some of the reviews about the gradual deterioration of the non-stick surface. Obviously, we can’t comment on that, since our machine is so new, but you can be sure our review will be updated if we notice that later. One good thing, however, is that the waffle plates can be ordered separately, so they can be replaced. Hopefully, in the near future Cuisinart will offer the option to order the grill/griddle plates separately, too.We hope this review helps.

I use this product primarily for paninis. I noticed, after a few months of very light use, that the non-stick coating is fading off of the metal plates . I contacted the manufacturer and was told that the non-stick coating is fading off because I use butter or oil on the bread per their instructions on page 27 of the user manual. The manufacturer is replacing plates but requires that I return the defective ones at my expense. Paying to ship defective parts back to the manufacturer because the product was used per their instructions is problematic.

This was delivered at 6:14 Pm. It is now 6:35pm and I have already made a full meal on it. I love it. Coming from a very dated George foreman that I swore by, I got this specifically because of the removable plates. That was my major complaint with the GF, it was hard to clean. But this. This beautiful piece of machinery is the pinnicle of human engineering. Love the ability to lay it flat, and the fact that I can have a griddle on one side and a grill on the other.

Very impressed with this grill. I have made burgers, hot dogs, chicken, steak, and grilled veggies on it and results are phenomenal. The plates are double sided, with griddle plates and grill plates- which are removable and can be cleaned easily. Heats up pretty quickly and distributes the heat pretty evenly. Dual temp control feature so you can adjust cooking temp for upper and lower. Have used it at least 3-4 times a week since purchase. It is pretty large when laid out completely, so make sure you have enough space on your countertop for this . But I think it’s well worth the investment, and a great alternative for those who live in an apartment where fire codes do not allow gas or charcoal grills. Also, it can kick up a bit of smoke depending on what you’re cooking. Oils/ marinades/ sauces especially, but not a deal breaker at all.

My old Cuisinart Griddler Express finally gave it up after about 15 years of dedicated service. I am totally blissful about it’s replacement. I have only had this for a few weeks, but in that short time I have really put it through its paces. This is as elegant as it gets. Tonight I did a big burger. I used the sear setting. Perfect browning. Juicy. I put it on my glass stovetop so I can turn on the fan and vent the cooking scent. My previous Cuisinart didn’t have removable plates and this is a HUGE feature. Although the plates are dishwasher safe, I would never in a million years put them in the dishwasher. A quick soak in the sink with a little Dawn gets them squeaky lean. clean. I’m not sure that I will ever use my outdoor grill again. Fast to heat up, plenty of power, and to me, a serious bargain. OMG, I can now indulge in my favorite Reubens at home. Carmelized onions? Yes!!! Totally recommend, 10 stars!

The griddler is excellent at what it does. Problem: with regular use the plates will last about 9 months before the non-stick surface is gone. We just ordered the relevant replacement plates but instead of 2 plates for $36 as shown in the picture of the Cuisinart website, the replacement pack only contains one plate. If you buy this for regular use, be aware that you’ll have to pay 80 bucks every 6-9 months.

Never thought I’d use one of these as much as I do. Perfect for Cuban sammiches and grilled ham and cheese. Yum!! Also works great for bacon. Keeps the bacon from curling up and it cooks it faster than on the grill. The grease goes right into the drip tray and the bacon isn’t drowning in grease. It makes for a nice way to cook french toast. Oh and fish… oh my goodness! Cooks perfectly! Also cooks quickly and evenly. One thing to note… I think the top plate doesn’t get as hot as the bottom plate. The bottom plate always cooks fast than the top. But the difference isn’t that much. Just have to know about it and adjust slightly. Like I’ll turn the temp higher on the top plate than the bottom plate sometimes. It’s nice that you have that option!I like that it’s easy to clean up. The plates detach and can go in the dishwasher. I usually wash them by hand though. I got a nice stiff bristled brush that makes it easy to clean the grill side.I bought the waffle plates but haven’t used those yet.Overall, I love this thing!!

These Cuisinart waffle making plates work great. They fit the Cuisinart GR-4NP1 5-in-1 Griddler perfectly. The “missing” screw and retainer clip are not necessary when the waffle plates are used on this specific model Griddler, as the waffle plates snap into place exactly like the original griddle/grill plates. If you take the time to season the waffle plates before use, just like a cast iron frying pan, the waffles will never stick. I have found that setting the middle control knob to “Griddle” (to the left), and then setting the temperature to 400 degrees, the Griddler will make a medium brown waffle in about three and a half minutes. Your personal waffle preferences and cooking times may vary though. Although these waffle plates are advertised as making “Belgian Waffles,” this is not really true. These waffle plates actually make the old-fashioned flatter style waffles, and not the really deep-pocket, thick Belgian Waffles. However, the waffles that these plates do make are great. If you are looking to get even more use out of your Griddler, while getting rid of a few more clutteted appliances at the same time, I highly recommend these waffle plates and the Griddler.

I tried a $5.00 (on sale) generic version a couple years ago and I hated it because the cheese would melt and bubble up over the plate edge and get in the crack between the plastic casing and the hot plates. I thought maybe this would be better because of it’s “updated plate design”. It turns out to be a big disappointment with the same problem as the cheap one. The plates aren’t large enough, the cheese bubbles over, and the plastic gets coated with tough to remove cheese. Even worse, the crack between the plate and the plastic fills up and is impossible to clean completely. It’s pretty much identical to the $5.00 version I had before and doesn’t make any better sandwiches. It may even be messier. Even the screw holes get full of cheese. It probably only deserves 1 star.

This is absolutely my favorite kitchen gadget right now. It works great as a panini press and I’ve made quite a few different types of sandwiches with it.The big win for me is how easy it is to cook boneless skinless chicken breasts. We try to not eat too much beef or pork for my dad’s heath, so we tend to cook a lot of chicken. This has been such a blessing. I slice the breasts in half to make them thinner, then I season them with whatever mood I’m in (last night was ginger, garlic powder, turmeric, cumin, and dried basil), and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Heat it up on grill to medium high, and cook it with the lid closed. I always check the temp with a thermometer, and they are done in no time with nice grill marks. Since it cooks both sides at once, you save so much time and it ends up cooking nice and even and stays moist. The family loves the results.Clean up is sooooo simple too. I’ve had times where I forgot to pull the cooking plates off at night to clean them, and even after sitting overnight and I’ve never had to scrub hard to get anything out.

I had a Cuisinart Griddler from years ago and didn’t use it much until 2015 when I started using it twice a week. I cook chicken one night and rib eyes the next, both of which supply me with enough dinner for the week. My daughter-in-law and I would occasionally use it for turkey or chicken burgers.By May of 2016 the non-stick coating started to bubble and flake off. Finding the thought of the coating flaking off and ending up in my food disgusting, I checked out the Griddlers and accessories on Amazon in May to see what was available, hoping, but knowing I’d have no luck, I could simply purchase new plates.Since I didn’t find plates for the old model, I looked at the new models’ features and discovered I liked the idea of the two highest models. I really liked the idea of a timer (the top of the line model has this feature), but didn’t feel it was worth the added cost. And I really like the ability to adjust the height of the plates to prevent squishing the juice out of the meat! The coating flaking got worse by June, so I made the purchase.I’m really glad I got this model! I’ve been very happy with it.PROS1. Searing meat is a snap. I use this feature on my steaks to seal the juices in and start the cooking process. I love my steaks rare and searing seems to speed up the cooking time without over cooking the meat.2. The static drip tray is convenient because bumping a drip cup happens too easily and the juice goes all over the counter.3. I like the larger grilling area. I can grill more chicken at one time.4. I love the ability to adjust the height of the plates for cooking.5. Compared to my previous Griddler, I like the ability to adjust the temperature as I want it. Since I usually set the plate height so it’s just barely touches the meat, I keep the top plate temperature five or ten degrees hotter than the bottom.6. The 2-in-1 plate design is so much better than having separate plates. There’s less chance of the coating being scratched on the plates that aren’t kept in the Griddler.7. The plates clean up nicely, but I find I can’t simply put them in the dishwasher and expect them to come out perfectly clean. It’s a nice idea to be able to do that, but it never works for me, so rather than pre-wash them and washing them again once they come out of the dishwasher, I just hand-wash them.CONS1. When searing meat, you have to pay attention to the light going from red/orange to green because you have ten seconds from the time it reaches the set temperature to the time it starts the two-minute sear.2. The location of the drip tray is weird and plays into the next point.3. I don’t like the amount of space it takes up on the counter, another downfall of the drip tray location.4. I would prefer to be able to adjust the temperature more accurately. Buttons that don’t click into place can be bumped easily or may not be turned accurately to the desired temperature even though it may appear to be correct.5. Others have complained about the height (maybe I mean depth) of the plates and juices from what they’re cooking have overflowed the edge of the plate. The angle of the cooking surface needs to be fixed because juices don’t flow towards the drip tray very well. Once or twice I’ve had to tip the Griddler back so the juice would go into the drip tray. My daughter-in-law melted some cheese on burgers one time and it went over the side a little bit. (She may have had the top plate too close to the cheese.)I readily admit con #5 made me hesitant when I read reviews before purchasing, but I’m glad I went ahead. Despite the cons, this is a worthwhile purchase. I think any buyer will be happy they did, as long as they’re aware of potential issues and pay attention as they learn to use it.

Hey, grill marks do not make grill flavor. This machine is a grill mark maker, nothing more. If you’re looking for that great smoky outdoor grill taste that you get from charcoal or wood-fired grilling, this ain’t it! Unless I’m missing some secret, there’s just no substitute for the real thing. So far I’ve cooked burgers and kabobs and it’s simply not the same as outdoor grilling with fire and smoke. I flavor my burgers too, with seasonings and Worcestershire, always have, and they still didn’t turn out right. I’ll keep at it. Perhaps there’s a way to infuse that grilling goodness into meats on this thing? On the other hand, this Griddler Deluxe electric grill is awesome in its own right! Veggies cook wonderfully, at least as good as sauteing in a pan without all the oil. Ham and cheese sandwiches are the bomb! Nicely pressed and hot! I look forward to more kinds of hot sandwiches for sure. Pancakes, eggs, and bacon come out perfectly. The Griddler has a lot of positive cooking attributes. I use it almost daily because it does work well. It just ain’t no grill! I wish you could set the sear function for a longer period of time. Two minutes just isn’t long enough for some things. I guess that’s my hope of getting more grill type flavor into meats?Clean up is pretty easy. I’ve only cleaned the grill plates by hand and it can be somewhat of a chore. I have not put them in the dishwasher yet. But I will next time. I noticed that the grill plate retainer clips get cooked on food on them. It’s kinds tough to clean those little metal tabs.I also notice that raising the cooking temp while cooking, that the bottom grill temp never came up to the new heat setting while the top did. Both LED’s turned red when I raised the temp, then the top turned green and the bottom one remained red for the rest of the cooking cycle. It has done that for a couple of meals. There was also a corner on that same lower heating element that did not seem to be the same temp as the rest of the surface. Not sure if these issues will end up being a problem or not just yet? We’ll see. At least it looks like the heating elements are easily replaced.I would recommend the Griddler Deluxe. But again, if you are looking for that outdoor grill flavor, you will not get it from this product. And again, unless I’m not doing something right, it just ain’t the same. For what it is, it works great!Anyway, the Griddler has a lot of positive cooking attributes. I’ll keep it around, especially for hot sandwiches and breakfast! Yeah! Does a great job for that stuff.

So far I am very impressed with this contact grill. I’ve tried it for both steak, hamburgers and salmon…all turned out great. The grill plates are easily removed, and I especially appreciate that the grooves aren’t extremely deep (which often makes cleaning super challenging). I didn’t find the controls to be super intuitive at first, but a thorough reading of the manual helped explain the options. The drip tray fastens securely and does a good job of containing juices and drippings. For the price, I feel that the grill should have included waffle plates, but the reversible plates themselves allow for many options.

Finally wore out the grill plates (just the grill side, the griddle side is still good and the waffle plates still look new) and decided we’d just buy a new unit.Honestly, i’d have just bought new grill plates for the old one if I’d used the right search terms and seen the third party replacement plate set before I ordered a new griddler. The old one still heats fine but its gotten banged about in moves and the release button on the top part is broken (you poke your finger in to trip the release) and there’s grease worked deep inside the body we can’t get out without a teardown that would void the warranty. We love this griddler, its got plenty of real estate, sufficient heat and control of heat, presses sandwiches nicely, the plates last a long time (and we bought the OXO brush this time, to keep from using the scrubbing pad on them). It’s bigger than the Foreman grills we had before Griddler number 1. We’re going to do a better job getting grease spatter off the body to keep it clean.TL;DR – highly recommend this machine, we use ours a LOT. Tough, long-lasting, capacious, good heating and easy to clean.

Always had a George Forman grill but hated to use it because it was a pain to clean. With my new Cuisinart GR-5B I have made waffles, pannis and hamburgers. The plates can be removed for easy cleaning and it has a temp control which makes grilling a lot easier. It is small enough to sit on the counter so that it is readily available. I highly recommend this indoor grill, especially for older couples because it makes cooking for 2 a lot more fun.

This would be a nice griddler if it was not such a POS. It has nice design and great features but craps out for no apparent reason. The replacement one I was sent has also died and all I do is toast bread and sandwiches with it. I dont even try the searing feature. This is a dud.

Cuisinart is such a reliable brand, I didn’t want to get a cheap brand that won’t perform to my standards. I wanted something with temperatue control and removable plates. I was very impressed with the very careful packaging and on time delivery. I had a George Foreman for years and needed to replace it. This one is perfect with the temperature controls to choose for either Panini or the griddle with lots of temperature variations. The plates can be turned over from griddle to grill sides for panini. The removable plates are secured by metal clips and solid push buttons which are more secure than some brands that have plastic push buttons that can break off. The plates are also interchangeable from either lid to base. The whole unit can be opened to a flat griddle with the push of a button. Also, Waffle plates can be bought separately. I’ll be purchasing those next. It’s so multi=purpose I can get rid of my full size griddle and also my old waffle maker. This can free up so much space in the kitchen. It’s a very attractive product and I will use it every day.

This is my first Cuisinart purchase and will probably be my last. I have used this Griddler Five two times now to grill steak. Both times I tried to use the SEAR/450 setting. The steak is suppose to sear for 2 minutes and then revert back to 425 degrees, cook for 2-10 more minutes depending on degree of doneness. After the 2 minutes of searing the unit DID NOT revert back to 425; it continued to cook at 450 andalmost totally ruined my steaks. Tried steaks again on another day; same thing happened, tempt. remained at 450 after 2 minutes. Was prepared this time; turned unit off and then on to a much lower temp. I called the Product Inquiry line at Cuisinart and after a very long wait finally spoke to a service rep. She quickly admitted she knew nothing about the new Griddler Five, knew nothing about the sear/450 function and told me just not to use it. Say what?????? I then sent an email to Product Inquiry Help, detailed the problem and mentioned the service rep. didn’t have a clue about the product. More than a week later I got an email back asking for the same information I provided in my originalemail which was shown below their response.I am more than frustrated with Cuisinart and this product. I’m toying with the idea of returning the Griddler 5 because it might be defective. I just don’t know. I guess the unit will be fine as long as you don’t use the SEAR/450 function.UPDATE on 9/21/18- I recd. another email from Cuisinart. They are sending me a new unit to replace my defective one. Hopefully this one will do the SEAR function as advertised.UPDATE on 9/28/18: The replacement unit from Cuisinart doesn’t work any better then the first one. SEAR/450 not functioning. To add insult to injury, I have to pay $24.00 to send the first unit back to Conaire. I will NEVER do business with this company again. I’ve changed my rating from 3 stars to 1 star.

This is the best appliance I have purchased and it has a permanent spot on my counter. I use it 4-5 times a week, and it’s simplified cooking and cleanup of quick snacks and larger meals. I had a cheaper grill that was smaller and really hard to clean, and the functionality of this blows it out of the water.Pros:-Plates are removable for easy nonstick cleanup in the sink or the dishwasher.-Plates are reversible for grill-marks or flat panini sandwiches and other non-grill items.-Fast heat-up and cooking – a chicken breast filet is done in 4-5 minutes with no flip.-This cooks bacon crispy in 5-7 minutes on both sides with no flip, no splatter when closed, and channels grease into the…-Handy no-mess concealed grease tray. Dump in the trash and rinse with hot water, it’s ready to go again.-Great for indoor grilling, does not heat up the kitchen measurably like the oven.-Toasts and compresses any sandwich for a hot, crispy treat; better and healthier than frozen pocket snacks. Makes great grilled wraps and folded quesadillas.-Does not require oil or butter for cooking if you prefer grilling for healthiness, gives veggies a tasty char.Minor Cons:-Only feature it’s missing is a way to hold the top plate to “hover” above so it doesn’t touch the top of the food for open face cheese melting or reheating pizza.-Not ideal for meats still on the bone – purchase boneless meat, or trim any bones before cooking-Ground meat patties can get a bit dry (similar to a Foreman Grill) due to pressure from the top plate; baste them with some olive oil, butter, or other liquid near the end or after cooking. Or unhinge the thing and use it like a one-sided flat grill.-I accidentally put two large steaks on that covered the entire surface of the grill and were still cool from the fridge which killed all the built-up heat so the meat sort of “stewed” in its own juice. They were still good, but for the char you want, cut steaks smaller so they won’t overwhelm the unit’s heating ability, and start them at room temperature. If you need a lot of steak, cook them in batches and give the unit a chance to keep the heat up; they don’t take long.

I absolutely love this grill, use it almost every day. I had the GR-4N for years and finally decided to upgrade to the Elite and wish I had done so sooner. The Elite fixes everything I didn’t like about the other one, primarily the reversible plates so I don’t have to store a 2nd set and the ability to lock the top plate for top melt. The plates themselves are easier to clean (seems to be a different non-stick coating) and seem to get much hotter on similar settings, getting a much better and more even sear on things. I also really like the pre-heat alert and built-in timer, the built-in drip tray, and the ability to individually set the temperature of each plate.

The product itself is great, but after only 10 months (and maybe 15 usages) the grill just stopped working while we were making pancakes. We called Customer Service at Cuisinart, and they asked us to pay them $10 to ship us a new unit (that I could handle), and then send them the faulty unit at OUR EXPENSE! That cost ended up being $49.71! So now the grill that we originally paid $116 for has now cost an additional $60!! It lasted less than a year, and we had to pay more than half the original cost to get a working product. I’ll NEVER buy another Cuisinart product!

I purchased this Cuisinart Griddler because my husband and I just weren’t happy with our George Foreman Grill
George Foreman GRP1060B 4 Serving Removable Plate Grill, Black
. It didn’t have temperature adjustment, the drip tray would melt every time hot grease would drip in it (or after being put in the top rack of dishwasher), and it just wasn’t big enough really. When I came across this one on Amazon with such stellar reviews, I thought this would be the one for us. So I ordered it along with the waffle attachment
Cuisinart GR-WAFP Griddler Waffle Plates
.I have used it at least ten times since I received it. So far I have cooked eggs, bacon, pork chops, toast, a Philly steak sandwich, and waffles (with the waffle plates I purchased separately). Everything has turned out great except the first time I cooked eggs on it because I didn’t use cooking spray on it beforehand. So keep in mind that you will need to lightly spray the plates with cooking spray or use butter before placing your items on it that may stick.I love that I have the option of using either the griddle or the grill plates. When you use the Griddle setting you get to select a temperature between 200 up to 425 degrees. If you use the Grill/Panini setting you select your temperature as either warm, low, medium, high, and sear. There are also marks in between those settings so you are able to get a setting of medium-high for example. The plates (including the waffle plates) are dishwasher safe but after owning the George Foreman for years I am choosing to hand wash my plates on this Cuisinart. When I would put the George Foreman plates in the dishwasher it would never seem to get them very clean. I guess it is just too difficult to cut through all that grease and stuck on food that was burned on. It is super easy to clean the plates on this Cuisinart though. The non-stick plates make it where I can just wipe the mess right up with little to no effort. Very nice.I like that the drip tray on this grill is attached underneath the unit. That was a big frustration for me with the other grill. To constantly have to place it under the grill in just the right spot, then find something to do with it until it cooled down. I have furbabies so I didn’t want to leave it out because they look at it as “oh look, a meal!” Since this drip tray is attached I can pull it out and clean it when I please and then place it right back into the slot. Easy peasy.I love that I can fold this unit flat and make bacon, eggs, and toast all at the same time. It is wonderful. It is so nice not to have to dirty up a bunch of pots and pans and tun on my range all the time.Overall I really am proud of this Griddler. It has been a welcome replacement to our old grill and is definitely one of my best Amazon purchases. If you find my review useful please let me know and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them below and I will answer them as quickly as possible. Thank you for checking out my review. 🙂

This I received today I could not wait to try it so I made a grilled ham& cheese sandwichI used the press lol and smashed the bread should have used a thick bread like Texas toast breador panini bread or I should have just cooked one side at a time and flip it because all I had was regular bread. But you know it was delicious! It worked like it should have tempeture was great worked very well and clean up was oh Soooo nice very easy. I don’t know what people were using or how they were using it but this is amazing I’m giving 5 stars only using it once. I will update it in a few weeks after other family members try it and give their feed back I’ll return to update my reviewOk I’ve had the time to really use it.As I said before the cleaning is very easy I’ve grilled onions and mushrooms toasted buns grilled hamburger, and cooked grilled ham & cheese sandwiches. This has worked great I’m going to be ordering the waffle plates because I love waffles and ice cream sandwiches. Can’t wait to make them.Read the directions and you should not have any issues.

4 stars for material quality,1 star for durability because my particular unit would not heat up the cooking surfaces and4 stars because it seems like a versatile product.First use out of the box, had the unit plugged in with green lights blinking and a bowl of pancake batter waiting for a pre-Christmas Sunday morning breakfast.15 minutes later, the unit is still ice cold with green lights blinking. Oh, it’s supposed to be closed to heat up? My mistake.I close the unit, green lights blinking. My husband comes over to see if he can help and presses down on the handle. Now the lights are all out. I press down on the handle and the lights come back on. The stainless steel top of the unit is scorching hot so I figure the plates are hot.I open the unit and lay it flat, drip a bit of water droplets onto the plates and they sizzle. Perfect temperature, right?I ladle out my batter, excited to make enough pancakes at once for my family. I watch my batter – no bubbles. What the he11? The heat is off (again?) So now I have this thing laid flat with pancake batter on both sides and no heat.I scraped the batter off and back into the bowl. Got out a frying pan and made breakfast on the stovetop, cursing the Griddler the entire time.I was so excited to get this, so excited to use it but the design and execution is poor. Maybe it’s my unit, maybe I am not patient enough but the bottom line is that my unit did not heat properly, if at all and the thing is going back for a full refund.

My old OptiGrill was fun, but was getting unreliable in its last several uses, and it always had constraints such as a no-bones requirement and very limited maximum thickness (ruling out most sausages, for example). So this multi-functioned Griddler is its replacement.Griddler is as far from OptiGrill’s programmed pushbutton cooking as you can get. Even its built-in timer doesn’t turn the power on or off, but only beeps. Griddler has a nice preheat feature, blinking the selected temperature settings until heated (though uniform temps across the grill need at last five minutes more). Beyond that it’s all skill-based fully manual cooking (there’s a little recipe book, but not even a list of foods with suggested cooking times: you’re expected to know or find out on your own).If you watch Cuisinart’s Griddler video, you may notice the demonstrators having trouble with balky controls. Right. There’s an amount of clunkiness here, with hard-to-push buttons, clips that don’t engage smoothly or won’t release easily, adjustment sliders that don’t like to slide. And the reversible grilling/griddling “plates” are very heavy, made for cooking effectiveness like professional tools, and not for convenience. So, though the nonstick coating on the plates works well, no one can say “clean-up is a breeze”. No one can call the Griddler compact, either. Mine will not fully open because of cabinet bottoms located 17.75 inches above my kitchen counter … or it won’t unless the Griddler is placed sideways (luckily the end of my counter allows this placement). Also an annoyance is that the “floating” top plate does not float unless you nudge it free from its retainers – which requires a potholder to do when the unit is hot. Why not install a small handle? The compensation for awkwardness comes with flexibility and good food. The first thing I cooked was an Opti-Grill No-No, pork steak with a blade bone: finding the right time and temperature just took a little thought, and the meat was tender and very juicy. My most recent trial was something very difficult to grill, four plump chicken thighs with skin and bone. I expected smoke, maybe flame! But using a moderate temperature on both plates avoided all that (with the top plate set to run a little hotter), and the result was nicely browned, cooked through, savory. I had no noticeable smoke that the kitchen vent couldn’t deal with, and even with the Griddler’s top plate raised that high, there was no spattering of the counter beyond four or five small drops. The kitchen was not overheated, and there were no strong cooking odors. So overall I consider this a very good purchase and would recommend it to anyone whose kitchen it fits. Just be sure you have a clear 18 inches above your intended cooking location. Storage is also an issue because, even if you have enough cabinet or shelf space, it’s likely to be too high or too low, leading to some heavy lifting and possible risk. I finally settled for full-time counter-top storage.PS Cleanup is made much easier by the Oxo Good Grips Electric Grill and Panini Press Brush that Amazon offers with the grill. It’s very effective. This is important because the three-prong scraper supplied by Cuisinart is almost useless: it fits the horizontal spacing of the grill ridges but not their height – as if designed by someone unfamiliar with the object to be cleaned.

I live in an apartment and only cook for myself, I haven’t used the stove since I received the griddler. I have prepared 1″ steaks to perfection, hamburgers, pork chops, chicken, and even pancakes with delicious results. The temperature control allows me to time how long to leave the food on the griddler without burning or guessing. The sear function provides a beautiful grill sear that competes with even the best steak houses. The adjustable height allows me to set the top grill just on top of the food without squishing out all of the juice leaving me with great tasting and juicy burgers. I also like how the top “floats” on the food so it cooks the top evenly. When you flip the grill grate to the other side you have a nice griddle that works perfect for pancakes, eggs, and fish. The price for the unit seemed a little high but I’m very pleased that I decided to spend the extra. The construction of the unit is very sturdy. The plates attach/detach very easily. It has stood up to my daily use and I believe will continue to for awhile.TLDR; Expensive but a great buy!

I spent a good deal of time trying to determine the difference between the GR-300 and the GR-150. All the specifications of the grills seemed to be the same, accept that the GR-300 has a display for the temperature and timer. I did not see how this small difference in functionality was enough to justify the difference in price. One small difference in the videos made me investigate further, but I did not see the difference described anywhere, in the owners manuals or on the cuisinart web site…but the video showed me something. Did anyone else notice it? Or did I completely miss some reference to the difference? WELL! I purchased the GR-300 and also inadvertently purchased the GR-150 and confirmed my suspicion of the difference! (I returned the GR-150)While the grill/griddle plates are removable and easy to clean, the BIG difference is that with the GR-300 the heating element is sandwiched BETWEEN the grill/griddle plates. The heating elements on the GR-150 are exposed beneath the grill/griddle plate. Though I did not test, it would seem that the GR-300 would heat up more rapidly since the heating element is part of the plate structure itself.I also like that the readout panel shows you the settings. I have made a number of dishes on the gr-300 and really enjoy using it. Very easy to clean up. It takes a few minutes to get up to 450 degrees, but it’s a very nice, sturdy unit.

Ive owned a cuisineart griddler for many years. I was searching for a waffle maker, but really didn’t want another kitchen gadget to add to the storing in my cabinet list. Decided to just check to see if my griddler had waffle plate attachments and i was thrilled to see that it did. Ive had my griddler for 8+ years my model is a 8NPC. After reading all the mixed reviews i took a chance and ordered themThe plates fit perfectly. I AM Ecstatic!!!! First time making waffles and they came out amazing. What i did: “Griddle” setting Preheated to 400 degrees. Pour the batter, closed it, waited 3 min, and thats it! Perfection!!! No sticking whatsoever, didn’t have to push down on the griddler to keep them uniform, they looked amazing. (Wish i could post a photo but i guess amazon took away the option). I did follow instruction and didn’t use oil of any kind. I recommend you hand wash the plates to preserve the nonstick and don’t use anything metal to scratch it. Very pleased. Make sure you have the correct model. I believe these only fit the 4N and 8N.

I wanted to get a new/bigger George Foreman grill, but I came across this and even though it was more than I wanted to spend (everything is so expensive!), I’m SO glad I took the chance. We love this grill. We use it several times a week. Even my boyfriend has commented more times than I can count that he’s glad I bought this.I will say that the fat doesn’t drain off the way it does with the George Foreman. The George Foreman is very slanted but this grill is much flatter, so a lot of the fat/liquid tends to stay on the plates and gather around the edges. If you check the fat tray, there is fat in there, so it definitely does drain some fat even though it doesn’t seem like it does.

Cooked pancakes and the Griddler does not get up to correct Temps. Lower plate peaked at 313F, upper plate at 253F. Not hot enough to brown pancakes. Have had difficulty getting a replacement, being directed to the wrong people, needing info on the unit while I was at work etc. I love the design and if we get a unit that works as advertised I would be delighted to keep and recommend it.Photo detail: green preheat light on when set to 425. Instant read thermometer may not be perfectly accurate, but when pancakes are completely dried on top and won’t brown the heat is obviously too low.

I have waited months before writing this review and it is the best in the market in my opinion. I am a home cook that makes almost everything I see on Master Chief and from Gordon’s recipes so I’m not Simone who dabbles I’m the kitchen and has every gadget known to chiefs well pretty much. This is why I give this item such a high rating. I read the reviews about eggs slipping to back when opened, but when your grilling the very and I mean very slight slant is to assist hem oils and juices from grilled meat etc to make it to the back grease pan. Also o read that some melted because it’s plastic. I have no idea what they did unless meat was drowned in oil and left on sear for too long, which probably set off a few alarms as well LOL. It does not drain as well as the George Forman bit that’s because of the slant and grill plate design but it won’t work for a multi function grill as this one and makes my old GF seem like a tricycle versus my new Harley so to speak. Also, you just have to spray some water on the burnt on food and let sit and it comes right off no matter how bad it is or pop in the dishwasher. I purchased one for my daughter-in-law and she uses it almost every day and then purchased her mother one. We were all GF users for years but we have all upgraded to the Harley Davidson version!

They’re everything I expected. No PAM, no oil, just set the temp to 400 degrees and cook for about 3 minute and 45 seconds to 4 minutes making sure the top lid stays flat on the waffles and the back edge doesn’t raise up while cooking. When opening the griddle, the waffles were always on the top plate. But, after a gentle nudge with the plastic tool that comes with the Griddler, they dropped down without leaving a trace of waffle on the plates. Clean up was a snap with little or no residue stuck to the plates. As the instructions say, do not use metal utensils on the plates – plastic or wood will prevent scratching. I also wouldn’t put them in the dishwasher. There’s no need. I’ve also read where PAM is not good for nonstick surfaces as residue will build up over time and ruin the non stick part. Oil I’ve heard is ok.I noticed that some of the other reviewers had sent pictures and they showed some waffles that looked as if they were cooked unevenly with light and dark areas on the waffles. This happened to me when I ran low on waffle mix for the last batch and only partially filled the plate. Those came out colored unevenly on the tops but I also noticed that the plates weren’t flat against each other and that the back edge of the plate had lifted up a bit. Now I see why one of the reviewers on YouTube placed a weight against the handles while cooking. A bit extreme but makes sense.

While the GR-150 is much more expensive than the smaller Griddler, the added features add little. Worst of all, the “two-year warranty” is almost useless. My Griddler died after 13 months. Cuisinart made me pay $49 to ship them the broken Griddler and, to add insult to injury, to pay another $10 to have them ship a refurbished GR-150 back to me. The replacement they shipped me was defective (it was missing a temperature dial — so much for their refurbishing), so they shipped me a second replacement (this one seems to be brand new), but demanded that I pay another $10 for shipping. Needless to say, I’m not paying.

I really like this grill! Not only does heat evenly but the fact that the plates can be reversed is a neat plus. I’ve used other electric griddles but they have two main flaws. One the plates aren’t parallel, which means that if you have something that is thick like a sandwich or a steak only part of it is in contact with the grill. The second flaw is that it does heat evenly. The Cuisinart address both issues. Because of the hinge design it allows you to grill a sandwich or a steak evenly. The “S” shaped heating element does a great job heating the reversible plates. The only real downside to the unit is that the top gets super hot. It would be nice to see a warning sticker to remind you. Overall this is a great addition to our kitchen.

This is actually my third Cuisinart griddler. Got my first GR4N with the red knobs in 2016, used it till 2018 when I finally bought a second since it was cheaper than replacing the plates alone. Since I use this many times a week, I finally reached the point of the plates not being quite as easy to clean as they had been. So I used my second one now till this month, so another 2 years of use. That one I gave away to buy this not because I needed to – still worked great and plates were still non stick – but because I wanted the bit larger surface area.I absolutely LOVE these for burgers. I have a new gas grill I picked up three or four years ago, infrared and everything, that I haven’t ever even once turned on, since between this griddler and my Johnsonville brat cooker, I just don’t need the grill. This has simple controls, and a much better drainage system than the smaller GR4 models. So easy to use, and even with the top plate open, everything falls into the drain pan, unlike the previous model. This one also has a MUCH stronger hinge point for holding it in a locked position – my old one would barely stay in the locked position when opened, which made it a pain when I had to remove the plates for cleaning when I was done cooking. The extra surface area is just what I wanted – I can easily cook all four burgers for my son and I at dinnertime now, whereas I used to just do two at once before. Makes my time go quicker.Plates are just as non stick as my smaller units were, so cleanup is a breeze. I had to rearrange my cupboard space a bit to make room for this one though since it’s just large enough that it wouldn’t fit where the old one did.Absolutely nothing to complain about though, other than I missed the big sale a month or two ago when I would’ve saved a few more bucks. Even having missed that sale, and getting it at this current sale, it’s a great deal and I’m happy with it.

We love this grill. We had a George Forman grill. We gave it away. We love this grill because it has plates that have two sides. It has 2 temperature controls, so you can control the heat for each plate. Do NOT put the plates in the dishwasher as the cleaning material eats at the coating on the plates. We easily clean the grill with two connecting sheets of paper towels in a layer of 4 of these together which we make wet and wring out the extra water. After we are done cooking and while the plates are still fairly hot, we clean the plates with these, which does an excellent job. This makes cleaning a breeze. You can use both flat plates or both grill plates at the same time or use one of each at the same time. The grill has never smoked for us. When you make hotdogs, you can smell the grill smell of grilled hot dogs. You can make all kinds of things, such as grilled cheese, eggs, pancakes, grilled sandwiches, burgers and all kinds of paninis. You can make many things as we also ordered the cookbook with it at the same time. The grill is made so you can adjust the height for the thickness of the food you are cooking. It is amazing what this can do! We highly recommend it. You have to use it fairly close to an outlet just like anything else because the laws demand how long the cord can be. The grill is worth every single penny. Always of course use utensils that will not scratch the plates. It says you can put the plates of the grill in the dishwasher but understand that dishwasher detergents pods or powders etc. will damage the plates. You can wash them by hand. We always just use the wet paper towels, and the plates are the same as brand new. Since it has dual temperature controls, you can put each plate on the same temperature or on different temperatures. You will not be disappointed with this awesome grill. We love it. We checked a ton of reviews of different grills sold and chose this one even though it cost a little bit more than some, but we chose it because we feel you get what you pay for. This grill is definitely worth the money. Don’t waste your money on cheaper grills that don’t have the dual controls, dual sided plates and all the things you can do with this grill and the fact it does NOT smoke! Also, it is so easy to clean. The food tastes like grilled food. We love it and highly recommend it to everyone. If people say the coating comes off the plates, then they put it in the dishwasher. It states you can do this, but understand if you do, the chemicals in the dishwasher cleaning ingredients eat at the coating and therefore it will definitely take pieces of the coating off which defeats the purpose of having a coating to keep food from sticking. Personally, they should say they are NOT dishwasher proof. The plates are so easy to clean, it is not an issue whatsoever. I clean the outside of the grill with a product called “Krud Kutter” which takes all the grease and brown discolor from the outside of the grill off of it and makes it look like brand new. I use the Krud Kutter and paper towel to clean the outside which is such an easy way to clean the outside. Using 4 layers of two paper towels connected with water on them and squeezed out to get most of the water out and roll them up into a nice roll, I use them to clean the inside of the grill while it is still hot. It makes it easy to fit in between the grill side and also keeps me from burning my hands and fingers. It makes it so easy to clean. I do NOT put the griddle pieces in the dishwasher as the detergent whether it is powder, liquid, or packets will slowly eat away at the coating on the plates. It is so easy to clean the grill the way I do. I love it as it is so easy to clean it this way. We love also that this grill does not smoke whatsoever. The hotdogs we grill tastes like grilled hot dogs and the kitchen even smells like grilled hot dogs. We love this grill for all kinds of things such as for eggs, bacon, pancakes, grilled cheese, grilled ham and cheese, hamburgers, hotdogs, salmon patties, fish patties, and we also purchased the cookbook for it which has so many amazing recipes for it! The possibilities are endless! We love it and highly recommend this grill. I also love that you can regulate the temperature on each grill separately. This would make an awesome gift as well. We use it all the time, so it stays out as we use it at least 5 times or more a week. It does not heat up our kitchen either which is a big plus! You won’t be disappointed!

I purchased this back on 8/2014 and never got around to writing a review. After 3+ years now, I can tell you that this is the best multipurpose appliance that I have ever owned. As a mother of 8, who makes a lot of pancakes, I can tell you that not all griddles are created equal. We have been through so many over the years due to various reasons and defects. Some have surfaces that just don’t hold up and others just quit working after a while and they are ALL difficult to store! Then the Griddler came into our lives along with the waffle plates (sold separately even in 2014). Right off the bat I replaced the huge pancake griddle and the bulky waffle iron that didn’t work very well in the first place. I found that I was able to make just as many pancakes on the flattened Griddler as I was able to make on my large griddle. The waffles turned out very nicely as well. Soon I began using my Griddler for all kinds of foods/meals. Grilled chicken, filet mignon, grilled cheese (you can fit 8 at a time) or 4 panini sandwiches. I love that this appliance is easy to clean and takes up very little room on my counter. If I don’t think I will be using it for a few days (rare) then it fits easily into a cabinet. I have been using this appliance daily (often multiple times in a day) for over 3 years now and it has held up well.

I usually buy Cuisinart because they USED TO HAVE great customer service. This was my second unit. The on/off button came loose and fell off. When I called customer service for a replacement part, they said “no” and that I had to pay to ship it back to them and pay for it to be shipped back to me, which would have cost as much as the unit. It was still under warranty. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM CUISINART AGAIN.

After about a week of shopping around online and in stores I wound up getting this grill. The independent temperature control, ability to adjust the height, removable plates, and deep grooves on the grill side sold me. Very well built and extremely easy to clean. The ONLY flaw I see with this product is that it’s not at a steep enough angle to drain fat, so the fat will sit and burn under your food. Will need to place a cutting board or something under the front legs to help with the draining. Otherwise, this product should last a lot longer than the cheaper ones on the market. I’ve used this to cook burgers, sandwiches, and even a frozen pizza.

I bought this smoke-less griddler as a replacement for an earlier version that was over 12 years old. It still works but I wanted one with more features. The current version offers more cooking options and more precise temperature control. Being able to set separate temperatures for the top and bottom plates is a nice feature. I have used the smoke-less setting to grill steaks and it works very well. Cleanup was also relatively easy. Initially I had difficulty mastering the many control options, but after using the grill a few times I now find them easy to use,
