I’m so tired of uncomfortable pillows while in the backcountry. I can’t stand inflatable pillows and filling a suitcase with clothes doesn’t cut it. I am as into cutting down weight and space as much as the next guy, but I’ve decided a good pillow is something I will gladly bring as a luxury item. Now..which pillow to get? This was the first pillow I’ve bought so far with this new philosophy in mind. I haven’t taken it on the trail yet but upon unboxing, I was a little disappointed at first. It’s smaller than I was expecting for it’s weight of 10oz. It’s not as lofty as I wanted, but I’m thinking if I put my down jacket underneath it it should be okay. It seems long enough from side to side, but from bottom to top its short, so when its supporting my neck it doesnt support the top of my head at the same time.I’m thinking it will be okay camping and will probably feel nice on the trip but on my living room floor I’m suspicious of the comfort and support it will provide during a full night’s sleep. We shall see!

A few more in he’s and I could double it over when I need a little more support otherwise it’s fine for camping.
gil golan –
The pillow dimensions are smaller than stated by the item data. 16 inches and not 18 as stated. Besides the pillow is smaller than expected, it is comfortable.
MystiG –
Very small but serves its purpose!

Pillow is okay for casual use. It is definitely small and packs well, but provided very minimal support for sleeping (granted I am a side sleeper). I took this on a three-month camping trip and eventually forced myself to sleep on my back. At that point, the pillow was better than nothing, but I should’ve gone with a larger size or an inflatable alternative.
Ian C –
It worked great for our campsgiving camp out, much bettervthsn my bags zipper.
Edwin –
Looks to be a good travel/cap pillow. Stuff bag packs well. A little smaller than I expected, but seems comfortable. It lost a star for my expectations I’m afraid, but the proof is in the sleeping!
Vincent Stanford –
Great camp pillow that rolls up tight and is highly packable. Gives good head support. But be aware that it is about half the size of a regular bedroom pillow.
Jamie McGrath –
It’s nice and small for easy packing but does not give you a lot of support when sleeping. I would definitely need two to sleep comfortably! A youth might be comfortable with just one. I love that the pillow has a case to wash as we go camping a lot. The pillow also comes in a nice compact bag making it even easier for packing!
Abagail Lorenzo –
It gets the job done. It feels like a flat pillow that you might have at home. I got it because I didn’t want to bring my pillows from home outside in the wilderness.
randi –
Does it suck to carry more? Yes. Does this add more weight? Yes. Do I value my sleep more than anything else? Yes, yes I do. This pillow lets me sleep like a dang baby. Its only like $15 and honestly isnt that burdensome. Just do it, you’ll thank yourself after night one.

The pillow is a nice little size that I use for lumbar support. It rolls up into a small shape, but unfortunately the stuff sack is about twice the size of the pillow, which means it is much larger than necessary when travelling.

I’m a paramedic and often work night shifts, so when I was looking for a pillow I wanted something small and compact and for a specific purpose. I use this pillow to take naps while in the ambulance. I like that this pillow comes in a bag and the pillow case can be removed and washed. The only drawback about this pillow is that it is a bit thin. And by thin I mean not very densely stuffed or firm. I sometimes find myself having to fold it in half for extra padding. For this reason I would not recommend it as a pillow that you will be using for a full nights sleep. However, it makes for a great travel pillow for short naps as in my case.

Purchased this for a recent train trip. was doubtful turned out to be the BEST Little Pillow! Love it!
C. ROMERO –
We’ve bought two of these camp pillows from Teton. These are not the best pillows you may get, but they do the job and were useful during our 10-day camping/trekking trip. These pillows are not so comfortable but we were able to handle it while resting after a long day on a hot weather humid forest. The carry pouch is excellent is serves its purpose quite well. The carry pouch has handle in the bottom for easier handling while taking the pillow out from the carry pouch The fabric quality of each pillow is very good and the pillow cover was very easy to wash after conclusion of our journey with a complete cleanness. The fill of each pillow is the regular polyester/cotton filling. Please refer to the attached photos.

Bought this for backpacking/ kayak trips but used for the first time this weekend just at a campsite. First impressions weren’t good I noticed loose threads on my initial unboxing and realized the stuff sack doesn’t really make it compact just changes the shape so not great for backpacking. A compression strap on it would be nice. It was just way to small for me to get comfortable sleeping on my side and I’d say it was ok while lying on my back. The stuffing took a lot of fluffing to get it spread out evenly. I think it would probably work better in my hammock or perfect for a child. For now a 2* until I get to test it in something other than a tent.
CustarKT –
Pillow is ok, but wish I had ordered a bigger size. Fits well in the backpack and is very little. I will keep it and get a larger inflatable.
Amazon Customer –
Not a bad pillow but if you are a side sleeper it might not be enough so you could do what I did and slice it open, add some shredded memory foam, and put it back together. Now it’s amazing and still small. Not small enough for the stuff sack but hey it’s washable and you can just put it in a bag.
C. Rogers –
It’s okay. Think of it as a mini Walmart pillow. It goes flat pretty quick. What you could do is use the sack it comes in or even a dry sack and stuff some clothes in that then put this pillow on top of it. You could also put it on top of your pack as well and sleep on that.!!!UPDATE!!!!: Okay so I would like to upgrade my review from a 3 star to a 4 star. Why? Well I recently purchased a hammock, hung it in my bedroom, and decided to try out this pillow in that hammock. This pillow is an EXCELLENT hammock pillow. If you are tent camping find something else as this is too flat to support your head properly but if you are hammock camping your head is already supported a little by the hammock itself adding this pillow in just makes a nice soft little nest for your head and it fits in a hammock perfectly and stays where you put it.

A good compact pillow. Does compress on one side the one I have but overall a light weight better than inflatable pillows. The cover is nice to have so you don’t have to worry about buying the cover which is not easy to find in travel sizes. Overall, good pillow to have for your camping, traveling needs.
Joshua –
Update: I’ve used this almost daily for going on three years now. I still love it.Original review: I ordered this from amazon along with a Therm-A-Rest compressible xl pillow. I’ve also used multiple inflation pillows in the past.I found this to be the most comfortable camping pillow so far. It is so comfortable that I’ve been using it as my primary pillow at home since I got back from that trip almost a month ago! I like it that much.It is not the most packable, or lightest pillow in my collection. It is not the largest camping pillow I have either. If you are willing to sacrifice weight and space for a small pillow, it is quite comfortable… But you need to remember some like soft, some like firm, some like high, and some like low. I think if you are considering it, you should give it a fair chance. You might like it as much as I do.

Boys needed a camping pillow, and this is it! Great, small, and tucks right in their duffle bag. Great purchase!
Keith Hovey –
I think this pillow was designed for someone a lot smaller than me lol. My kids LOVE it, but I cant use it. Its just too small.
Henrry Peña –
Muy cómoda para dormir y ocupa poco espacio en la mochila, y no hay que preocuparse por que se desinfle
I Spend Too Much Here –
It was smaller than I had imagined it would be, but it was my first time camping and first time buying anything like this. It’s a great pillow with good support. I think this would be too big for backpacking, but if you are just car camping, this is great. I like that it has a case that is washable. I had bought two pillows and brought them with me. But a friend had not brought any pillows so I lent him one for the weekend. I slept just fine with the support it provided.
tcp100 –
Unfortunately “small” is the only and best option when camping, and this is far better than nothing. I’m a stomach sleeper and cannot sleep on my back, so my options are limited no matter what. That being said, this is better than the therm-a-rest camping pillow I’ve used before, if not only for the flannel case.. It doesn’t stick to your face like the therm-a-rest.Don’t expect it to be like a normal pillow, but for the size and cost it’s about as good as you’ll get.UPDATE: Used this during a winter camping trip in the Rockies this weekend, and it was sooooo much better than my Thermarest. The outer cover makes a huge difference. It was ridiculously cold and the pillow was warm, but not sweaty or sticky like the thermarest. Pretty good.

Have bought 3 of them use them for travel and a knee pillow for bedtime

It is a very nice and small pillow. I think it could have been softer material and a little thicker with its interior but I may just be very picky. Seems about worth the price.

Washable and keeping good shape after wash. Small size but good for travel use. Comfortable materials. A very nice product.

Nice little pillow but I wish it was bigger. It’s compact size so it doesn’t take up much room when packing but in my case, I wish it was bigger.
Ernesto Lopez –
Selected the Medium size but it is small. Good for kids but not for adults. Returning for a bigger camping pillow. The flannel looks and feels good.

I bought this for truck camping on fly fishing trips, but the thing is so small. I ended up giving it to my daughter and she uses it for her doll.

Was not sure it was going to work as good as my blow up pillows, but I was wrong. Great support even with my wife shoulders. Plus it did not interfere with my CPAP mask.
Paddywhack –
My wife and I enjoy back country hiking and camping… the primitive style, where you carry in all of your gear. Space matters, and we are on a budget, so we purchased a pair of these Teton Sports Camp Pillows. I was impressed. The pillow rolls up very small when not in use and fits nicely in the included stuff sack. The stuff sack itself has the Teton logo and seems to be of good quality with a drawstring at top to cinch it down even more. This pillow served its purpose well in camp. It’s soft and feels good against your face. It is remarkably fluffy, compared to what I expected. The quality seems great. We have used the two pillows about six times so far on the trail and have zero problems and they are exhibiting no signs of wear and tear. If you are going to be car camping, you can certainly get a bigger and thicker pillow, but if you are carrying all your gear on your back then this pillow is the one you need.As someone else noted in their review, when you wash these, throw a tennis ball or two in the dryer with it to keep it from bunching up.

I was pretty unsure how good these little pillows would be but they are wonderful! Normally when the whole family is in the car with it packed for camping the pillows are piled up between the kids. The kids argue about who has less space because of it etc. I bought these little pillows for all of us. We just went on an extended camping trip and we all were quite comfortable at night. Perfect firmness and support. They are really easy to stuff back into their little sack. When I got home I took the removable covers off and washed them and now they are ready for the next trip.
Scootergal –
This is a great supportive pillow that rolls into a compact easy to use travel companion.
Wayne Blasingame –
Not saying inflatables don’t have their place.I use a combo of both but this pillow is what makes it all feel better.
MassConsumer –
While I do wish this pillow was a little flatter, it was still very good for traveling to a camping music festival. It packed up nice and small and fit in my luggage, the cover was soft, and it served its purpose. Will definitely use again if I have to fly somewhere to camp!
A.E.Nelson –
These are so perfect for mine and my husband’s camping needs. They’re warm with the flannel case and they are the perfect size. They are not too firm, but not too soft. So, they are supportive! They are approximately the size of a lumbar pillow, which really should be all you need it you’re camping! Camping isn’t a 5 star hotel with big fluffy down pillows. If you’re someone who needs giant fluffy pillows these aren’t for you. If you’d like a little extra support just buy 2! They pack up into their bags and become about the size of a football. I took mine out and fluffed them up when they arrived and then repacked them because the was they came in the case left a big unfluffed crease right down the center of them but after I took them out and fluffed them and left them out for a night and fluffed them again in the morning the crease was gone and the filing was evenly distributed inside again.

I was looking for a nice compact pillow for my hammock and i definately found it here. It’s nice and fluffy and soft but just the right firmness to it as well. I love that it has a pillow case.i actually got 2 for under 11 dollars. Heck of a deal. It has it’s own travel bag, it’s not a compression bag but it the pillow folds in half and you can wrestle it back into the bag when you want to pack it up. I don’t see it a problem if you are a guy who is a side sleeper that it will work for you. It’s a compact pillow so it’s not to be expected that you are getting a big thick pillow like you would sleep on at home or in a motel somewheres. I see people talk about that all the time. It’s for traveling or someone who needs a lite pillow so you don’t have to sleep on a duffle bag or a pair of pants or jacket. I’m very happy with this.

I just spent the last 5 nights sleeping on one of these. They are very comfy. I was surprised how well it supported my head and neck. I have neck and back problems, but this pillow did great for me. I have only used it five times, but it stayed nice and firm and solid even being packed in the bag and smashed in our camp gear.It was very light weight and small. I love the cover. I haven’t washed it yet. If it doesn’t hold up well, I will edit my posting, but so far, I love this pillow and recommend it.Update 10/26/15: I washed both our pillows a few days after our trip and they did both become lumpy after washing. But that is totally normal for this type of fill material, and I was expecting that. When I wash my regular pillows I normally put a couple clean tennis balls in the dryer with them and that usually does a great job of making them come out fluffy and lump free. I am sure that when I toss the pillows back around in the dryer again with 2-3 tennis balls they will come out great. So that is my suggestion to all my dustmite-a-phobe homies out there. These are good little pillows. Dry them with tennis balls.

I couldn’t believe how difficult it would be to buy a camping pillow. There are so many and the amount of reviews can confuse the issue. I almost gave up and then found these buried deep after many pages. I was sure that inflatables would be a problem with air leaks, but I still gave them a chance when reviewing different products. There were hybrids which had a combination of air, down or foam of some sort but these could be very expensive and fall short of comfort in the end. I can understand the need to pack down small and be light when backpacking and these come somewhere in between that. I bicycle and use a trailer so I can carry more weight when necessary. The bottom line for me is comfort, isn’t that what a pillow is for. This pillow meets that need and it packs down nicely. There is no fear of air leakage since it is made from similar materials as synthetic fiber fill that you would fine in many sleeping bags. The removable outer cover is a requirement for me to make washing easier and the size is just right when using a sleeping pad which for me comes in at 25 inches at the shoulder. This pillow is smaller and doesn’t hang over the sleeping pad but big enough to provide adequate head room and is comfortable. I couldn’t believe how expensive many of the pillows were, at the price this one is being sold I consider it a bargain. If spending $ 50.00 for a pillow that will leak or bottom out is your goal, then don’t buy this one, but if spending less for a nicely made pillow that in my opinion is just right in size and not too heavy and feels good against your face and keeps you warm, then this could be money well spent.

I was a little nervous when I bought this pillow for camping because I was unsure how good a pillow could be that compresses in a tiny little bag. This pillow was awesome, it fit in the hood of my sleeping back and gave me the comfort and support that I needed. Once out of the bag, the pillow fluffed up making it perfect. This would also be great for traveling on a plane. I bought one for me and my husband and we both loved them. Much better than throwing clothes in a compression sack for a pillow.

*UPDATE* I’ve used this so far as a spare pillow to take in my buddys trailer for hunting trips, and only use this pillow on a cot during our tent camping trips. Thing is so cozy I let my friend try it and it’s a night and day difference for quality of sleep.Havnt gotten to test it out in the field yet but I have no doubt this pillow will work for what I need. I’m going to be using this for my hammock so I needed a small pillow to fit in it. It’s a perfect size and super comfortable. All the other ones I saw had a zip up liner which would probably break or be uncomfortable. This ones perfect and you can wash the liner

Probably depends on your expectations. It was not firm enough for such a small pillow
oliveforhealth –
This is a great little pillow. I thought it might be a partial inflatable, but its foam pieces surrounded my really soft flannel. It scrunches down to fit in its small little bag. It works ok for camping, but will work great on a plane ride. I also have hip pain, when sleeping & I put this between my knees and it helps align me and the pain is almost diminished. If your one of those people who just want a hugging pillow, it works well for that too. If an inflatable pillow had a bit of foam and flannel around it, it would probably be a best seller….hmmm. Maybe Teton will see this and upgrade

Perfect for camping and backpacking. It’s nothing luxurious, but it packs well, and provided good support on my first trip. I’ll be packing it into a compression sack with my sleeping bag on my next trip. The stuff sack is good, and I honestly wouldn’t want a compression sack just for the pillow. This is way more comfortable than an inflatable pillow.
Emma –
I was getting terrible nights of sleep using the Sea to Summit Aeros pillow while camping and backpacking…the rolling balloon-y feel of it was driving me crazy as a side sleeper. I needed to try an actual filled pillow to see if it would be any better and it was! I need something thick and dense and this fits the bill more than any inflatable pillow would. Worst case scenario I can fluff it up or even fold it over if I need it thicker. For the price this definitely does the job; not perfect but pretty solid.
Paul T. Ushijima –
It was delivered yesterday…slept on it last night. The fiber fill was very supportive and hopefully will last longer than foam. By supportive, the pillow is “pillow shaped”, not normally thought of as ergonomic. But after working with it, I was able to move the filling around enough to give me neck support both on my back and sides. The cover is very soft and the pillow fits well in the sack that comes with it. I may look for a small compression sack to get it a little smaller. My only suggestion to the manufacturer is to have a way to secure the bag to the pillow to make packing up a little quicker.

Bought two of these, thinking they were bigger for my matching cots. You’d definitely need a bigger pillow if your sole purpose for buying this was sleeping on a cot. I use it as a secondary pillow to get my head in the perfect spot on top of my main pillow during camping. When not camping, it lives on my Lovesac beanbag and is the PERFECT addition. I’ve also used it on my recliner to give support when reclined and trying to watch TV. Super comfy and provides just enough support to get your head in a good angle when sitting in a reclined position. Also have used it for road trips, as it makes sleeping in the seat much more comfortable. Would buy again, and if they make bigger ones I’ll definitely be buying some of those as well!

It’s a good pillow, love the fabric because I use cotton only sleep gear. Using at home to test out my sleeping bag, it was really warm. I ended up switching to my regular pillow because the sleeping bag was so comfortable I dind’t want to get up.
Jeff Scott –
Compact. Perfect for camping or road trips. Stores nicely and comfy when you need it.
Logan Shiffler –
This little camp pillow is amazing. I was hesitant to buy a camp pillow at first because I didn’t think it would be worth it but this pillow is fantastic. It is easy to use, pack, and wash. The pillow case it comes with is very soft and feels good on my face when I sleep. It is also very fluffy and gives good neck support, which is crucial when camping because if you have ever woken up with a stiff neck and a full day of hiking ahead of you, it sucks. The pouch the pillow packs in is very high quality and very easy to use. You just roll the pillow up, slide it in the pouch, tighten the cord, and you are on your way. This pillow works like a charm in my blue sky hammock and I sleep like a baby with it. It is also great for road trips or day trips where you are chilling out for a long time. The only con is I wish it could somehow pack down a little bit smaller. It isn’t very big at all when it’s in the pouch, but I just wish it packed down to like 4 inches instead of 6×5 but that’s just me looking for something to knit pick. Great pillow, highly recommend if you are looking for some good sleep out in the bush.

I just spent 3 weeks camping with this pillow. As far as a camp pillow goes this works great. I definitely recommend it.
John Robles –
Overall this is a decent little pillow. It’s a little smaller than I expected, the dimensions are definitely a inch or two off. I took it camping and was great for packing and saving space. Unfortunately it wasn’t too comfortable using as my main pillow at night because of it’s smaller size, but it was actually great for using on the drive out. Also since it has to be folded in half to fit in the packing sleeve, when you pull it out it has to be fluffed up and messed with quite a bit before use or else the middle stuffing is lumpy and thin. The fabric and pillow itself are actually a good quality and soft. Good for use in cars and planes. Definitely perfect for traveling.
KTG –
Its a small pillow, and works good for me, fluffs up nicely and can be compressed down to fit in the stuff sack.

Why are most pillows and sleeping bags made for back sleepers? This pillow is great for side sleepers. It is bigger than most camping pillows. If you are one of those weirdos that cut your toothbrush to reduce weight in your packs, don’t buy this pillow and stop embarrassing yourself.

I bought this because I went on a test backpacking trip and regretted not bringing a pillow. I own a TETON 65l bag, and knew they also had a pillow, so I bought 2 of them. One for me and my son. We absolutely loved these pillows!! We just got back from a 3 day backpacking trip to Sheep Lake. You wouldn’t think a fluffy, comfortable pillow could come out of the little case that its in, but it did! It even packed into the small carrying case just as easy as it was to take out. Very satisfied with this product. I washed the

Slept on the ground in a tent with this and a butt pad and I slept pretty well considering I was on some gravel in Wyoming. Wish it stuffed down a little smaller but w compression sack would probably do the trick

With how tiny these are, I was quite surprised that they get the job done for the most part. With that being said, if you toss and turn quite a bit, you may want to try to find something a little bit bigger. If space is at a premium though, these, or an inflatable pillow would likely be advisable. I opted for these based on the cheaper price and the fact I was getting one for my wife and I, as well as having poor experience with inflatable air mattresses in the past.I’ve been buying and upgrading my camping Arsenal for the better part of a month now, so these will fit right into my camping musts as my wife and I grew tired of lugging around a landscaping/yard bag full of blankets and 4 stuffed pillows.Lose one star for the fact that they are just a tad too small IMO.
Brent –
I bought this pillow to use to be able to sleep in my jeep for camping. This pillow is extremely small and it’s so soft your head falls in and touches the floor it’s about the size of a book and 4 inches of fluff. Probably good for a child not for an adult. Really nice design but ultimately wasn’t a good match for me.
Danny –
A wonderful addition to my hammock camping set up not as compact as I was hoping but it is very comfortable

Teton makes good products but problem with the pillow is that it’s too small for a grown man. Maybe for a little kid.

I had to return this as this is too small for me I sleep on my side and this won’t support the gap between my head and my shoulders. But for some one who prefer to sleep on their back this is very comfortable and compact pillow .

Well made, arrived quickly. It really looks like it’s a pillow for a child’s doll baby. What it’s filled with isn’t very supportive either. Not nearly worth the price. But my grandchildren like it, they’re 3 and 4 years old.
Drew Tyler Wright –
I purchased this pillow for a backpacking trip in the Rockies. I needed something light weight and compact and this seemed to fit the bill for both of those needs. When it arrived I was actually surprised at how compact it really was. But when I took it out of the pouch it fluffed right up and actually seemed pretty comfortable. It didn’t take up much space at all in my bag and it was ridiculously light just as described. When it came time to test it out in the Rockies I slept just fine for 3 nights. Another thing I might add is that the pillow is very easy to repack, you don’t have spend 20 minutes trying to cram it back in the bag. Obviously it’s not as comfortable as a giant feathered pillow you’d sleep on at a luxury hotel, but it is camping after all and to be as small and light as it is, I think it was great and with a great price tag to boot! All in all:.Small.Light.Easy to repack.Comfortable.Cheap

This thing is beyond tiny it might work for my 3-year-old but ridiculously deceptive on the size I want my money back but it’s not worth the time to drive and send it back

I’ve purchased three of these pillows over the last two years for my grandkids. It’s the perfect size for them and easy to wash. My oldest grandson now brings the pillow with him to use it on the couch while watching TV.

I used this during camping after I ran 50 miles through the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Let me tell you, it was plenty comfortable after that. I was tired and sore and couldn’t sleep but I laid on this and listened to a wolf howl through the night. I was uncomfortable everywhere, but didn’t need to punch and re-shape my pillow. It packs down pretty small, too. I think this is a pretty darned good backpacking/camping pillow. I’ll be bringing it in the future when I travel by air because I think it’ll be great for that, too.

This is the first pillow I had purchased for camping. I wish I had of fought it sooner. It is so soft and fluffy. It really helps the quality of my sleep. It is bulkier then a blow up pillow, but it is more like what I sleep on at home. So, for me, the weight was worth it.

This product was exactly what I needed.

When you get ready for camping there’s always that one item you forget. Every. Single. Time. For me, it’s the pillow. The tent, the sleeping bags, the chairs, etc. Every camping component is in a specific location together, and you never really think about the fact that you need a pillow for your bedding, and you don’t want to use your bed pillow, because camping is a wonderful yet filthy endeavor, and you also always seem to forget those spare pillows in the closet. But this bad boy is machine washable, small and compact but just right for the head to rest on.

Having a compact pillow for long car rides or for a lazy day in a hammock has been great.

I’m pleasantly surprised with this pillow. My husband got one too and loves it. We got them to save space in our RV and used them for a month this summer. I was worried I would feel like it wasn’t big enough but it was fine. And very comfortable. I hope they stand up over time. We’ll use them for years to come. They would also be great to take on international flights or road trips, for adults or kids

My son loved this pillow when he went to camp. It has great support for the head. Also it is soft and comfortable to lay on.

Well made item. Unfortunately way to small to provide any real comfort for humans over the age of 3 years.

Travels well, nice and small. Could be a bit thicker

Its decent in weight and size for hammock camping or fotting in hood of mummy bags. The fill is that of like cotton and bunches up and takes a lot to fluff it out even. The material takes a few washes to get soft but is nice after that. The comfort is 6.5/10 but it beats inflatable pillows and is well built. I have already gone on a great trip with it and am still on it as i write this, it is doing very well in damp and chilly weather.
